Re: New Manager Rumour Mill
Again, the defence to digs stop when the digs stop. Basic logic that some can't seem to wrap their heads around.
Re: Travel & Ground tomorrow
There is a fair bit of residential street parking on the East side and North sides of the ground, which home fans use - coming out of town on the Newmarket Road, in Ditton Fields area (left just beyond the ground as mentioned by @NewburyWanderer or further beyond the ground to the right on Barnwell Road and off to the right on from Barnwell Road on that estate.
Driving from Wycombe and arriving on the A14 from the west or the M11 from the south though I probably would avoid the city and I would go take the A14 motorway standard dual carriageway to go round the north side of Cambridge towards Newmarket, leave on the exit for Horningsea (it is 2nd after the one for Histon / Cambrige and next after the one for Milton/ Cambridge) and take a right once you have left the dual carriageway which takes you through the village of Fen Ditton into Cambridge. You reach the Newmarket Road further out of town than the ground and need to turn right (either lane is ok at the traffic lights). It is only a couple of hundred yards to a roundabout with a McDonalds on the right, the ground is about a quarter of mile straight on. Take a left for Barnwell Road area as above or carry straight on and the Ditton Fields area is on the right.
Alternatively if you don't like the idea of street parking turning left onto Newmarket Road after going through Fen Ditton will bring you to the Newmarket Rd Park and Ride site in about half a mile. They do a £3 match day fare stopping at the ground on the way back into town. I have just looked - the Cam Utd website says that the £3 fare is per person, but kids are free.
Re: New Manager Rumour Mill
Bringing in a head coach who ultimately has a reputation for being a very good coach and working with young players at least makes a lot of sense given the direction the club is moving in. I prefer this option over most of the other names we've had touted around (Evatt, Johnson etc).
It'll be interesting to see what role Vokes and Grace play in the new coaching set up. Hopefully both can stay close to the squad to keep some continuity as we enter the business end. I'd hope Dodds will be seeing the value in that too.
Re: New Manager Rumour Mill
Very much looking forward to the same people saying our form is better without Bloomfield later blaming him if we don't go up, though!
Re: New Manager Rumour Mill
Sorry Lads, it's Mike Dodds chat now as he seems to be the chosen one.
Re: New Manager Rumour Mill
Simon Grayson maybe.
A real shame we have missed out on Schumacher as he was the outstanding candidate.
I think next best would be Rob Edwards, done well with Luton until this season and seems like a decent bloke. Important to carry on with the ethos after diamonds in Blooms and Gaz.
Re: New Manager Rumour Mill
Wow, Cant even take abit of a joke and some friendly advice to try and not let other peoples opinion affect you. Oh well, Whatever.
Re: New Manager Rumour Mill
Derek and Clive were much less subtle. “This man came up to me………..”
Re: Random sightings of our players outside of football
Not a Wycombe player but I once nearly crashed into Peter Crouch’s Range Rover. Just about avoided a collision. Entirely my fault. Most other drivers would be fuming but summing up Crouchy’s nature he just pissed himself laughing at the predicament.
