Re: The manager post Matty Bloomfield?
Idk, there might still be some tension from the Vikings' raids of Spain in the 9th and 10th centuries...
Re: The manager post Matty Bloomfield?
It is going to be very strange to be an English club with Spanish fans coming over to wave Danish flags!
Re: Magnus Westergaard signs
At least give him 10mins of his first game before deciding he's underwhelming!
And I know some fans love writing a player off at 30, but come on, a 26 year old should be absolute peak age and a superb season here could quickly bolster his value, especially if we went up!
Re: New Manager Vote
Ainsworth will probably win a 'manager we want' contest.
A 'manager we need' contest would be much more complicated.
Re: New Manager Vote
Very appropriate for a manager who impresses people without getting actual results.
(sorry, I couldn't resist).
Re: The manager post Matty Bloomfield?
The reaction to Bloomfield leaving is an especially emotional one for many of us, one that I struggled to understand or describe at the time. Certainly the debate among Gasroomers has helped me understand better the perspectives and changes at the club that are in progress. These may well turn out to be positive for the club in theong run, but we have to acknowledge we are potentially also losing a lot of what we identified with during the Ainsworth and Bloomfield eras.
Wycombe achieving our greatest triumphs as a club with someone who epitomises what our special club means as much as Matt Bloomfield as manager would have meant an enormous amount to a sentimental old fool like me, it may take a little while to adjust while the dust settles and a new era at the club begins.
Re: Magnus Westergaard signs
I started trying to work out what the ground is before realising even I'm not that much of an anorak
Re: Magnus Westergaard signs
The timing of the signings coinciding with possibly one of the most heartbreaking moments following the blues for the past 30+ years making me feel strangely ambivalent about the club having broken its transfer twice in a week.
It's a pretty big gamble throwing (by our standards) astronomical money at players with impressive pedigree overseas but an unknown quantity at League One level.
Hopefully the gambles will pay off and that the special environment nurtured by Ainsworth and then Bloomfield can be kept going and continue to develop players from ever more diverse backgrounds.
Re: Magnus Westergaard signs
I did wonder why they showed an MK fan wearing a Wycombe coat in the photo!
