Re: The manager post Matty Bloomfield?
I had an experience where I was part of a group coming in to restructure a company with terrible processes and a toxic culture. Even after the restructure was a massive, measurable success, those of us who came in to do it were treated with disdain, and once we gradually left for places we were more appreciated, successful processes we put in were reversed, so that the people running the show could try and look like the smartest people in the room.
Success can actually annoy some people if it does not look like their doing.

@Chris yes I love spag bol, but whenever I’ve said to myself that dinner tasted fantastic it’s definitely down to the bolognese rather than the pasta element!
Having said that maybe Mrs username123 buys cr@p spaghetti.
Re: Matt Bloomfield to Luton?
Hadn't realised that Neil Peters had gone - sad news. He always responded promptly and thoroughly to emails I sent in about stuff that was probably very low on his list of priorities. Another of the good guys gone.
Re: Match Day Thread: Beaconsfield (Berks & Bucks Senior Cup)
I don't think the spell at Weymouth particularly helped. They loved his energy but he spent more time fighting for position than actually getting chances as there was no creativity in the Weymouth midfield. Didn't give him much chance to find his scoring form. It's a confidence thing more than anything. If he can keep getting into the right places then once the first one or two goals go in the conversion rate will get much better.
Re: Matt Bloomfield to Luton?
Bloomfield and Catchpole have both used the phrase "top man" at the end of numerous interviews. Nothing to read into there.
Re: Matt Bloomfield to Luton?
On Matt B departure, well, it’s done now isn’t it?
I had a day of feeling sad about it but as a greater man than I once said:
”Tis better to have loved and lost than never to have loved at all”.
I’ll be forever thankful for the commitment Matt gave us, and I was hoping for a repeat of his emotion from the playoff final at Wembley at the end of this season. But that’s not to be. Although I have a feeling he’ll still be delighted if we do go up this season.
And in true fickle fan fashion - He’s gone now. On to the next. Never too high, never too low etc.
There going to be times ahead of us. Interesting times. Sad times. Good times. Bad times. Lots and lots of times.
3pm on Saturday and within 100 minutes or so we’ll be celebrating a win, or bemoaning a loss or agonising over that missed chance in a draw, just like we did last game.
Re: Match Day Thread: Beaconsfield (Berks & Bucks Senior Cup)
Official attendance was 324.
Re: Matt Bloomfield to Luton?
i’ve mentioned before that I was surprised only Scott Mitchell left (as well as the two medical staff on the eve of the season starting) with the new owners coming in as Phil and Matt C were my bigger concerns than MB tbh.
The cynic in me has always seen any club media output as the clubs own propaganda outlet - it’s there to spin everything as positive from the club after all really - and it has been my worry the new owners would want to put there own people either in place of, or above Matt and Phil.
I think this would be disastrous btw. Those two really are the real link between fans and club. Players and managers (as much as they kiss badges etc) come and go. But Matt and Phil really are one of us.
