Re: Alex Lowry signs
If I was to guess I'd say Taff, Wheeler, Butcher and possibly Hanlan could all be on the move.
Re: Alex Lowry signs
We couldn't afford to get signings wrong before, there wasn't the money to pay people off and bring in a second player if the first didn't work out, or to let them graze for a few months ago while they adjusted.
We should have access to many more players now so no need to stop vetting people for being arses. I don't think it was ever as simple as someone having done a bad thing so they are off the list but hard work and research that paid off.
Re: Alex Lowry signs
Post of the day.
I came here to say basically the same thing.
He is young and lost his mother at 19. That's going to rock even the hardiest of us.... but at 19 that's a catastrophic life event. Its no wonder he lost his way a bit and probably questioned everything around him. He was likely angry and confused and knocked completely for six.
I back us to give him a nurturing environment where he will find his feet in football again and to become an excellent signing for us.
Good luck and welcome to the family Alex.
Re: Alex Lowry signs
BTY sorry Beechrdswan see you started thread earlier with a club X video for Alex - came off X a while ago on day Wycombe launched on Bluesky, but we are not edgy enough on bsk to get the video yet 😂
Re: New Manager Vote
If suggestions are accurate about Dan Rice not getting on with MB or vice versa as rumoured, MB not getting on with players as rumoured, MB being mercenary (he walked away from Col U after all) and massively ambitious, a small buyout fee, and the club allowing him to talk to three clubs as rumoured, surely statistically there was a good data driven chance MB would walk which though it's a business and there's no room for sentimentality must undermine the idea Dan Rice is on the ball? Either he knew and had contingency plans or it was a bolt out of the blue no-one saw coming. If it was the latter, as hes in the middle of buying players for a manager he did not get on with or expect to leave, it's not that reassuring surely?
Re: Other Football
If oxford v Luton represents the standard of defending in the middle of the Championship we'll be just fine.
Re: New Manager Vote
i think he’s probably taking his time because we have a great caretaker and a motivated squad. But maybe we should abandon the idea he had someone ready to go once Matt left.
And as CFO he’d be in charge of signing and selling no matter who the manager was.
Re: Alex Lowry signs
I do like this kind of signing. Clearly talented, but for whatever reason (personal in this case?) hasn’t done it. The right environment and we have a winner.
