How anyone can dribble on about loyalty, mR wYcoMbE, kissing the badge and whether he was "fully committed" I have no idea. It's genuinely insane.

If you want someone and he’s being courted by other clubs and you have just a £100k release fee and he’s got you to the top two you make damn sure you protect your asset.

Btw, going back to this, you could argue that every tactic fails "if not properly implemented". Whether it's long-ball, high press, tika taka, low-block. It doesn't matter. Each has it's purpose and would be effective if done well.

Surely we should think about how easy it actually is to implement the tactics with the quality of our players relative to the opposition and also - to a lesser extent - how good it is to watch. I'd argue that Russell Martin's way of playing would fall down on both of those criteria

My opinions remains that if Blooms and Dan Rice felt they couldn't work together then a parting of way was inevitable. Those of us who hold him in high regard should be glad that Blooms got a better job at a higher level (for now), but we should probably start coming to terms with the fact that he's made a great career move and he's not pining for us.

Or i should make peace with the fact we'll be having these same conversations in five years.
