Re: Matt Bloomfield to Luton?
So @Vincey you're suggesting that Matt should have opted to stay until the summer because that's better for us, but acknowledging it might have been not so good for him?
He's been loyal to Wycombe for 20 years but he has loyalties to his wife as family as well. I think it's perfectly correct he puts loyalty to his family above loyalty to a football club.
Re: Matt Bloomfield to Luton?
You know what, you clueless, tin-foil hat wearing truthers, the fact that Matty has mentioned:
1) Being somewhere that wants him
2) Being somewhere that lets him make recruitment decisions
does all sound rather familiar...
Re: Jason McCarthy - Brighton u21s
Brighton is quite the place to get into the coaching side, too. I can only imagine he will make some fantastic contacts there!
Re: Matt Bloomfield to Luton?
Just listened to the three counties interview and the more I think about it the less sympathy I’m starting to have for Bloomfield here.
Whether he likes it or not the game is changing, who is he to dictate club policy on transfers?
He’s ditched us at a crucial time in the season, if it wasn’t working for him he could have departed in the summer and he would have had job opportunities landing on his desk. Maybe not of the riches that Luton were offering but solid jobs.
Re: Matt Bloomfield to Luton?
@Wendoverman @drcongo this ^ is the post I was referring to.
Re: Matt Bloomfield to Luton?
At the end of the day, if the head of football ops (or equivalent) and manager/HC aren't on the same page, that's not going to benefit the club. It's a shame, but what's happened has happened.
Re: Matt Bloomfield to Luton?
So what if there was a major disagreement between the two parties? Has that never happened to any of you in the world of work? You try and make the best of it while looking for a way out. The stakes are higher in football than in most industries, but if that's what's happened then it's hardly Earth-shattering news.
Re: Matt Bloomfield to Luton?
He laid it out quite emphatically how much he enjoys being part of the recruitment process and was excited to do that at Luton.
Re: Matt Bloomfield to Luton?
I don’t disagree with that. But if you’re the one in charge and that disagreement leads to the guy who has given his all for Wycombe for 20 years and got us to second in League One leaving, then that reflects badly on you.
