Re: Match Day Thread: Cambridge
That’s not a tell tale sign. That’s not wanting to get into further trouble. What can he do? Meantime his team mates all went fucking mental.
Re: Match Day Thread: Cambridge
Talking of crowd songs can I make a plea for no more intra-game choruses of "we are top of the league", "we're Wycombe Wanderers, we're top of the league" etc?
Just tempts fate and seems to always come back to bite us
Re: Attendance Prediction - Cambridge utd (a) - Sat 1st Feb '25 - Match 29 in 24/25
That’s 50 odd tickets down of full capacity too.
Great turn out though
Re: Mike Dodds
Let’s hope he turns out to be someone like McKenna. He certainly wasn’t high profile when Ipswich appointed him.
Re: Mike Dodds
Sunderland fans (from a brief scour of socials) seem to rate him in a first team coach role, but not as a head coach. For the record I don’t rate the opinions of most Sunderland fans particularly highly so I think we should form our own views after a few months of him being with us.
Also not sure it’s entirely fair to judge him on his results when they’ve all been in an interim capacity and likely in a period of relative instability for the club.
More than anything I want to see in the first few weeks some signs of how he can integrate with and enhance the culture we already have here - I think that’s mostly what the club and squad need in the second half push.

Must have been a fairly miserable experience for anyone 5' or under yesterday. I was surprised at Cambridge Utd providing such a poor experience for family away fans as they make such a big thing of their own fan engagement successes. I thought it was quite shabby of them.
There must be other clubs with a sizeable away following who have had, or will have, a bad experience going to the Abbey this season - Orient, Charlton, Reading and Peterborough come to mind.
Does anyone know if the EFL has any say on how an away allocation has to be divided between seating and standing.
Now that is off my chest I will start on the attendance tables - we had a good crowd turnout and were pretty good on predicting the numbers too.
Re: Mike Dodds
As a side note I’d be interested to see what happens with Sam Grace over the coming months. I’m not sure he holds any ambitions to go into full time management but equally may be tricky for him to slot back into the development role he was in previously, given he’s had a taste of a much higher level of responsibility.
Whatever happens - I hope we can retain him as he’s a credit to the club and the kind of individual who epitomises the culture and everything we want to build on going forwards.
Re: Mike Dodds
Spot on, @Jonny.
The win ratio means nothing out of context. Good job decisions aren’t always based on data alone.
