Re: The manager post Matty Bloomfield?
Club badge just been updated to read 'Wayne Rooney's Wycombe Wanderers FC'
I kid. If this comes true I knew nothing about it, I swear!
Re: Matt Bloomfield to Luton?
It would be easy for most people to choose to support a Premier League team.
In choosing to support Wycombe Wanderers, for some people at least, it’s because we’d rather support something different. It feels like Wycombe are now in the process of being subsumed into the behemoth of elite level football and its associated trappings.
For me it’s a shame we couldn’t have kept going with an old school owner more like the Couhigs. Had a training ground in the High Wycombe area. Had more regard for the history of the club and the people like Matt Bloomfield who have dedicated a huge part of their life to our success.
Life moves on and things don’t stay the same. I think someone said it feels just a little less special being a Wycombe fan today.
Re: Matt Bloomfield to Luton?
When the new owners took over, I felt that football was moving away from me and all of this doesn't detract from that. I understand that everyone's different but I don't feel the need to live my life through football and spending time in the Premier League with a billionaire owner from Kazakhstan isn't my dream. If this happens, I'll just feel that it's more than a bit wrong.
Re: Match Day Thread: Beaconsfield (Berks & Bucks Senior Cup)
I thought by asking something that we already knew - while suggesting a conspiracy theory in the background - might take the edge off the morning a little.
Perhaps I was wrong.
Re: Matt Bloomfield to Luton?
We will probably get to know none of what actually occurred. Maybe the new management have done nothing wrong at all and Matt saw this as too good an opportunity to resist.
Matt’s stock is very high at the moment and he is an ambitious guy, so it could be just that.
It is sad to see him go but I wish him every success in the future (apart from when they play us).
The future still looks exciting for Wycombe even if some of us feel that things will never be the same.
I for one will embrace the change and hope and pray that things go from strength to strength.
COYB!!!!
Re: Matt Bloomfield to Luton?
I am definitely not an ITK, but I'm pretty sure they've had their own man (who will just do what he's told) waiting in the wings for a very long time. So long, that they were fucking gutted when we started performing really well on the pitch.
Re: Matt Bloomfield to Luton?
Of course there won't be protests. This is the Gasroom, not the whole fanbase. So no protests will prove no one is really too bothered?
It's interesting that some of the posters who spent years slagging off that Ainsworth and anyone connected with the club for their(in their opinion) inadequate running and managing of the club and lack of clarity are now berating people for being suspicious of the new owners as if its the most ridiculous take ever.
Good luck to Matt, whatever happened behind the scenes here's hoping the new era brings us joy in 2025.
