Re: Match Day Thread: Barnsley
How many appearances for Kone? 30 G/A in 12 months is silly, quite frankly. What a gem
Re: Match Day Thread: Barnsley
Dean Ashton was covering our game on Sky Sports News. I’ve just flicked over in time for his summary and he said we were terrific. He wasn’t 100% on the penalty as apparently the lad got a touch of the ball but he said the red card was ridiculous from the Barnsley player.
He also was really complimentary of Kone’s header, said it was a great technique to finish off a brilliant cross.
Re: Rumour Mill
I've ignored him but everyone quoting him makes his drivel show up again. Damn you all ;)
Re: Match Day Thread: Barnsley
In basically a calendar year, Kone has made it into the top 25 for (league era) goals:
Required points for promotion.
Here are the last three season's points tally needed for League One promotion.
Wycombe currently sits on 58 with 18 games to go, a possible 54 points to play for.
1st Place Automatic Promotion (Minimum points required in brackets)
97 (93), 101 (99), 92 (91)
2nd Place Automatic Promotion (Minimum points required in brackets)
92 (88), 98 (97), 90 (90)
6th Place Playoff (Minimum points required in brackets)
76 (75), 77 (77), 83 - Chairboys (81)
Re: Match Day Thread: Barnsley
This season is as emotionally exhausting as watching a four hour war movie. And still 18 (league) games to go!
Re: Man of the Match - Barnsley (H)
Kone was immense today, but I equally thought Scowen, Humphreys, Grimmer & Skura put great shifts in.
Leahy had his moments and some really good free kicks & corners.
Other than the inexplicable trying to head the ball 2 ft off the ground moment Bradley was dependebly solid.
Bakinson started well but seemed to get slower & slower as the game went on & was surpeised he wasn't replaced earlier.
Westergard did ok, but is clearly off the pace at the moment & I suspect will take a few more weeks to get to full match fitness & also building that understanding with those around him; was slightly surprised that it wasn't Butcher to replace Bakinson tbf.
Fred was frustrating but did have some good meoments, GMac is now very much an impact sub & did he have an impact. Kodua, Luballa, Udoh all were ok.
I am hoping this win over a decent enough side restores some confidence in the team as that is what seems to have been lacking since before Christmas - as Gaz used to say "Believe"
Re: Man of the Match - Barnsley (H)
Some really good performances there tonight and some excellent match changing moments. Yes King Kone got the goals but also sheer class from GMac - that’s twice in three games from him - good game from Leahy especially after picking up that early card and Skura settled well into the game after shaky start. Congratulations to Jack Grimmer on his 200th Wycombe appearance, and to Franco Ravizzoli on his 50th.
Up next, GMagic (199).
