After the Mansfield Away Game: Match 26
Changes at the top this week - Many congratulations to @wwfcblue who reaches top of the Leaderboard for the first time this season with a new personal best prediction for the season. Congratulations also on the first sub 50 score of the season. The scores and maximum discards are such that @wwfcblue will keep top spot for at least the next match.
Congratulations to @Commoner who takes 3rd place, also with a personal best prediction of the season so far, missing by just four, one which does equal @DevC's existing all round best prediction of the season so that accolade is now held jointly. Congratulations to @Commoner for that too.
In fourth place @93Chairboy's score of 191 in the Mansfield game was just enough to hold onto 4th place as a new tenth best prediction.
There is clear water between 5th and 6th, it looks around a '5 point' gap to me.
In eigth place @perfidious_albion's score of 208 was also a new tenth best score so far and enough to move him up from equal 8th place to 8th place alone, which is why the table show @ryan_w_kirkby2 moving down a place with no-one appearing to move up.
Congratulations to @bookertease, @mooneyman, and @BSE who all moved upwards in the section of the Leaderboard.
Congratulations to @LDF who moved up the most places this week and congratulations also to @our_frank who moved upwards who was the only other forecaster, apart from @wwfcblue to reach a highest point in the table so far this season.
Chat gpt had another good week and was the third entity to record a closest prediction of the season so far.
Re: New Manager Vote
No point doing Cressex petrol station jokes as this lot are so modern they'll do all the interviews on computers
Re: New Manager Vote
Yep, we're still in a period of official mourning. All jokes are off the table.
Re: The definitive ex-player news thread
Interesting article about Paul Lambert (did anyone realise he had won the Champions League?)
Re: Today...
...in 2008 (17 years ago) Matt Bloomfield played 90 minutes for Wycombe Wanderers in a 1-1 League Two draw with Rotherham United at Millmoor.
In 2016 (nine years ago) Matt Bloomfield played 54 minutes for Wycombe Wanderers in a 2-0 F.A. Cup third round replay defeat to Aston Villa at Villa Park (replaced by Stephen McGinn).
In 2019 (six years ago) Matt Bloomfield came on as a 55th minute substitute for Wycombe Wanderers (replacing Scott Kashket) in a 1-0 League One win over Bristol Rovers at the Memorial Stadium.
Re: New Manager Vote
So the timing of Blooms' leaving could have an impact on our transfer business? That's not very Mr Wycombe
Re: New Manager Vote
Shev is spot on. One potential replacement I know of was sounded out WELL before Blooms left for Luton but the timing of Blooms’ departure didn’t work for that individual. Whether or not he was ‘first choice’ I don’t know.
I understand that a number of potential candidates have been invited to interview for the post, which could explain the story that Des Buckingham was at Adams Park.
Re: New Manager Vote
I panicked then when I started reading your post and it pretty much started "we need a drum beater" !
