Re: Match Day Thread: Barnsley
He does absolutely brilliantly. At that point in the game the calmness to slow it down just enough for us to get men in the box, beat his man and then drop a perfect cross onto the striker's head is superb.
One of the best signings of recent times. He has been fantastic and consistently delivers what's needed in big moments. At 37 he's still having a massive impact on games and looks as fit as ever. Genuinely inspiring.
Re: Match Day Thread: Barnsley
Just got back, what a fantastic entertaining night that was ! Great performance tonight, leaps and bounds above Saturday, even at half time and 1-0 down I was happy as we looked and was playing so much better !
First 15-20 was tough but after that, wow.
Scowen, Kone, Humphreys, Bradley, Leahy I thought were superb tonight.
Only slight niggle for me was Franco, kicking was poor again, out of position a LOT, and looked a bit panicky at the end with ball at feet. (OK I'll duck for cover)
Great night though ! One of the best of the season
Re: Match Day Thread: Barnsley
That Kone winner was incredible. The ball is behind him as he heads it. We can't sell him!
Pathetic attendance sadly but those there created a great atmosphere tonight. Really got behind the team and despite the sparse crowd made it intimidating for the Barnsley players. Great support but come on the numbers are dreadful for a team flying high.
Re: Match Day Thread: Barnsley
I am beginning to think "off to Swansea" is going to end up as a euphemism.
Low is ill = off to Swansea
Low break's his nose = off to Swansea
Low trips in the shower = off to Swansea
Low signs for Cardiff in the summer = off to Swansea
Re: Match Day Thread: Barnsley
What a brilliant interview. He sounds such an intelligent, articulate and tactically astute guy. Loved his comment re Kone’s minutes over the last couple of games, and also made complete sense talking about the new signings. I can completely understand why he’s reluctant to throw them all in and disrupt the harmony of the existing squad that’s done so well to get us to the position we are in. I can see he’s not long term manager material (I think he’s a reluctant manager) but I’m more than happy for him to stay in position while we take our time finding the right man.
Re: Required points for promotion.
10 more wins should do it, provided we get 2 or 3 draws from the remaining games
Re: Match Day Thread: Barnsley
Okay so whilst the bloke is down injured. I know there are a whole load of mitigating circumstances, but Frank Adams attendance is really low. We’re 2nd in the league. Crazy stuff.
