Re: Sonny Bradley signs
Taylor and Low are clearly very capable footballers when they receive the ball on the deck. But there is something beautiful about a centre half clearing the ball into the next county when you are under pressure. Sunny was a defensive rock last night and Declan will receive an education in the pure art of defending playing alongside him.
Re: Match Day Thread: Portsmouth (FA CUP)
Agree with those who said Portsmouth were shocking. We definitely helped make them look that way, but if Mousinho had secretly said "I'll ship you to Milton Keynes if you score" it could hardly have looked much different.
Re: Match Day Thread: Portsmouth (FA CUP)
Sonny Bradley…what another great performance. What a signing and he reminds me a lot of Jason Cousins - the passion energy and leadership. I haven’t been so cold at a match for a long time, it was l8ke being in a fridge the whole game.
Re: Match Day Thread: Portsmouth (FA CUP)
What will the conspiracy theorists have to say now?
Re: Match Day Thread: Portsmouth (FA CUP)
I always felt he was slightly underrated as a player at Wycombe. He was a horrible bugger when we came up against him.
Comes across well in interviews and seems like a good guy. I've warmed to him over the years and no doubting he's done a great job at Portsmouth, albeit they were dreadful last night. I understand he lives very locally to High Wycombe still.
Re: Match Day Thread: Portsmouth (FA CUP)
You can say that again! (An expression that always tickles me but I’ve stopped the repeats now.) My admiration of Gids, founded on his excellent performance and cracking goal against us for West Ham U 21s in the paintbox trophy a couple of years ago and reinforced by what I have seen in the handful of performances since, is well documented (get me!) and playing him as an adventurous right back was clearly a well justified decision.
My apologies to him and Brandon Hanlan.
Re: Matt Bloomfield to Luton?
Agreed. The contrast from the post match and the pre match interviews was huge. He had looked tired around his eyes and jaded from all that’s going on, but the win just lit him up. He clearly lives for his next Wycombe victory. I’ve said it before but you cannot help but love the man.
