Re: Match Day Thread: Beaconsfield (Berks & Bucks Senior Cup)
Will be a strange atmosphere tonight! Have fun all that go, not sure I can make it. No idea how many we'll bring?! But as advised, get there early if you want a spot near the ground. COYB!
Re: Matt Bloomfield to Luton?
I know emotions are running high, but please..it's "shimmering" ape.
Re: Matt Bloomfield to Luton?
Interesting that everyone assumes he was "pushed" out of the club. It was widely reported that he had a release clause in his contract and Luton met that. It was MB's decision to go and the club said they were disappointed he left midseason. How is this different than the Couhig's stating they would never stand in the way of anyone wishing to move on?
Appreciate that a disconnect has occured between MB and the Directors, but how is this a reason to jump on Dan Rice's back all of a sudden? He and the owners have delivered on everything they have promised to date. They are putting their money where their mouth is. It could just as easily be that MB's best mate has been sacked and he has thrown his toys out of the pram. No one knows the full story and probably never will.
He has gone and we have to accept it for better or for worse. As far as I can see, a new manager who is on the same page as ownership can only be a good thing in the long term.
Re: Matt Bloomfield to Luton?
Focusing just on the future of Blooms for a moment, I don't see much "risk" in going to Luton, from a career point of view. He gets Champo experience (which is never guaranteed, even when you are on a good run in L1), and even if they get relegated and sack him, he gets a payoff and would still walk into a L1 job.
Similar for GA - QPR was his dream job, and though the squad was not set up for his strengths, he got a payoff, a rest with some media work, and still walked into a L1 job when the time was right. Yes, it could have gone better, but he felt like he had taken us as far as he could, and is probably better off financially after making the jump.
Luton's squad is also in a much better state than QPR's was, and is clearly underperforming rather than drowning. So yes, taking them down might push Blooms' upward trajectory back, but it's the sort of chance that you have to grab when the new regime at Wycombe is made up of a bunch of ingrates it is available.

I don't know what you know, but I know what I know. Feel free to continue in blissful ignorance.
Re: Matt Bloomfield to Luton?
The suggestion earlier in this thread that Matt was blocked from picking players because the data said they weren't right for that match is noteworthy
I must have missed that post @aloysius who said that?
Re: Matt Bloomfield to Luton?
Jerome John isn't even listed on the club contacts page: https://www.wwfc.com/club/contacts who is he? And it's not like this page is out of date because they've cleared MB off it sharp
