“Ballooned over the bar multiple times”. He definitely didn’t.

Re: Match Day Thread: Shrewsbury
And in terms of shots on target, it's even worse:
Wycombe - 31 shots on target (1 goal)
Shrewsbury - 3 shots on target (3 goals)
Re: Match Day Thread: Shrewsbury
How about this for a stat!
In our previous four home games v Shrewsbury, we've taken 92 shots and faced just 16. However, our record is:
W0 L2 D2
Goals scored: 1
Goals conceded: 3
This must be some kind of curse
Re: Match Day Thread: Shrewsbury
If that’s your first offering on here I can only say that it leaves much room for improvement.
Re: Match Day Thread: Shrewsbury
It's fine folks, other opinions are available.
But I predict if we struggle in our remaining 7 games (which I think we will) the knives will be out for the formation upheaval.
Stevenage at home is the only remaining game you'd place us big favourite for, and we've just played 5 at the back against the league's worst team already doomed to relegation and have failed to win.
More than happy to see this play out and if it ends in glory I'll be the happiest man alive and will eat my words.
Sadly, although it is negative, I just don't see it. We've butchered far too many points against poor sides already.

Re: Match Day Thread: Shrewsbury
I don't really see how anyone can find significant criticism in the tactics when the team manage 30 shots vs. 2. We clearly bossed the entire game and should have won comfortably. Unfortunately, Kone and Humphreys (my 1 & 2 for POTS) had wasteful nights in front of goal and other players weren't able to find the net either. Not the fault of the manager.
I think we've played reasonably well in the last few games. Birmingham game aside we're hardly conceding any chances. I could see us going unbeaten until the end of the season.
To me it looks like the players just aren't quite good enough to go up automatically I'm afraid. Kone and Humphreys have been great all season. The remaining attackers have either been injured or too inconsistent. We cannot depend so heavily on two players to do so much of the attacking work. Udoh has performed pretty well. Otherwise, Fred, Sadlier, Lubala, GMac, Kodua and Vokes just haven't delivered enough between them over the course of the season. That's partly down to injury of course, but also a troubling decline in form in some cases.
Re: Match Day Thread: Shrewsbury
Unlucky tonight, simple as that. Don't think anyone can blame Dodds for that performance, there was a lot to be impressed by despite a weak opposition.
As many have said, it could have been 5, but at least we are still in the hunt.
To even be discussing promotion with 7 games to go is such a privilege. We have the quality to beat any of the teams we have left to play, it's not over yet.
Kone has looked frustrated of late. Him refinding the magic touch could be the difference. We have certainly missed Udoh lately.
Re: Match Day Thread: Shrewsbury
What we really missed tonight was Dan Udoh.
How many times has Mike Todd's had the opportunity of having them in the team at the same time.
Re: 998 goals in the EFL
998 goals in over 2 decades at AP and about 999 chances squandered in the space of 90 minutes tonight. Or so it felt like.
