Re: FA Cup Man of the Match - Portsmouth (H)
Gideon for me. Nothing more exciting than a player getting the ball and running at the opposition defenders. He made the opening goal out of nothing. And this was with him filling in at RB. Positionally he was excellent. Couldn't do much about the aforementioned slip, but recovered really well to show great resilience. The move near the end of the game where he faked to go one way and went the other leaving the defender for dead was superb!
Re: Aaron Morley
If you read his quotes he's actually begrudgingly complimented the player and us indirectly without mentioning us at all.
Evatt won't last the month.
Re: Jason McCarthy leaves by mutual consent
It's not exactly unheard of for a player to call time on their playing career that young without any injury problems
Re: The definitive ex-player news thread
Luke O'Nien
If Luke stays match fit and continues to play regularly in 2025 he will make it in to Sunderland's Top 20 appearance makers of all time by the end of this year.
Currently on 289 games with 20th being Billy Hughes with 335 appearances.
Hats off to him and I never saw him as a CB.
Re: Jason McCarthy leaves by mutual consent
Not unheard of no, but fairly rare.
And normally when they get released at the end of a season. Not when they've seemingly purposely agreed an end to a deal midseason.
Re: Loan watch
Brody Peart has returned from his loan at Basingstoke, so by my reckoning to only two out on loan now are Shala and Young.
Ward and Woodhouse really need a loan somewhere in L2, I think they both need to start forcing their way into Blooms plans for next season.
Taylor Clark seemed to do very well at Farnborough, the next stage of his development will be interesting.
Re: Loan watch
He's the son of a colleague's neighbour...links to Wycombe are everywhere.
