Re: Rumour Mill
Yep...3 goalkeepers not included in total; Kone, Lowry, Simons, Kodua, Humphreys and Taylor I think, so we're one under...
...but we do seem to have 6 loan players there.
...scrub that, Back is permanent, not a loan as stated in BBC Sport report.
Fin Back signs
Everyone deserves their own joining joining thread, so welcome aboard Fin.
You'll possibly be feeling a little disoriented this morning with all the new team mates you're get to know. Just like us supports, as it happens!

Xavier Simons signs
Interesting comments in his interview, I thought.
Says he'd been in discussions for some time about this possible move which was effectively done by Sunday night and yesterday was just about paperwork and medical - so no need for it not to be announced earlier than 11:20. Clearly the media team keeping us all engaged until the end.
Also he's another box to box midfielder - that must be a type the data says is best. And he's featured 20 times for Hull in the Championship this season, which suggests he's coming here with the promise of starting or it's not progression for him.
I don't envy Mike Dodds the task of moulding all these new players together with the existing squad and working out his best team.
We are going to need another new coach, just to transport two sets of players to every game!
Welcome aboard Xavier.

Re: Funniest chants
While we distract ourselves from the torments of transfer deadline day, perhaps I may be allowed to extend the boundaries of what was never a chant, but at least a bon mot from the Wycombe terrace, worthy of reminder some three decades on.
On a less than distinguished night for Wycombe visiting Basingstoke, I think, in the FA Cup, the hosts, enjoying their big chance of giant-killing glory, were all over the media pre-kick-off with tales of the part-time or full-time jobs of their first XI, where much was made of the home GK being a part-time male model promoting fashion wear.
Ten minutes in, in pre-ballboy days, the ball had to be retrieved by the home goalkeeper from a puddle by the corner flag to take a goal kick.
Observed at close quarters by a Wycombe fan, looking rather less than catalogue-fit in a scruffy, rather tightly-fitting, anorak down which drizzled the grease from a dodgy burger, being devoured with the decorum of Ed Miliband attacking a bacon sandwich, he spluttered, at the same time sending remnants of bun, burger and onion into the floodlit night sky, the words which caused the keeper to acknowledge with a laugh Wildean repartee, improbably manifesting in Basingstoke, "You THIN bastard!".

Re: Rumour Mill
On the playing side other than Morley who was pretty unique we've kept everyone we wanted to and made some promising signings.
No question though that replacing the "Manager / Head Coach" and introducing a whole load of different players, several of whom aren't nearly match ready will bring it's own complications. He needs to get them up to speed, get to know them all and forge a new way, ideally before dropping out of the top two.
No easy task but the upside is massive if we can do it, and maybe not taking some bids for the king that would have been unthinkable to turn down in previous years is the biggest win of the month.
Re: Will Norris signs
Well yeah, they might as well stretch it out - it's one of the biggest days of the year for engagement
Re: Rumour Mill
Funny how people were dreading this window and claiming how weak we would look in February.
I said in September it was the strongest Wycombe squad I’ve ever seen. It is now even stronger and I’d say we can now field the best Wycombe starting eleven I’ve ever seen.
Re: Rumour Mill
All I’ll say after that late business last night concluded activity is that we’ve had worse transfer windows.

Re: Rumour Mill
This is now the squad strength…
NORRIS (Ravizolli, George)
GRIMMER (Back, Pattenden), LOW (Skura), TAYLOR (Bradley, Hagelskjaer), HARVIE (Reach)
SIMONS (Bakinson), SCOWEN (Westergaard, Leahy), HUMPHREYS (Lowry)
ONYEDINMA (McCleary, Kodua, Wheeler), KONE (Vokes), UDOH (Lubala, Berry, Sadlier).
Apologies to any I’ve missed!
Re: Rumour Mill
Just catching up. Some madness.
Good luck to the new coach working the best team out.
Though he's bought some time by seemingly a lot of them having not played for a while.
