Re: Rumour Mill
Nice work. I dare say, though, that football inflation has outstripped general inflation somewhat over that period.

A defender who doesn't win tackles, either a worry or he's so good he doesn't need to make tackles and he's the new maldini

Re: Match Day Thread: Huddersfield
A bit late to the discussion but ...
I agree that Bradley looked a good signing. If reports that we have signed a young Norwegian (?) are true we will have enough cover if indeed Low moves. Hanlan is not a goal scorer, he should not replace Kone. I think Kone has been isolated in the last couple of games - he needs another forward playing near him, not on the wing. That means only one of Fred or Gareth should be in the team and I have always had doubts about Fred, I reckon only 1 good game out of 4 is what we can expect.
Also agree that last night was a horrible throw back to the lump it up tactics of GA, when we were playing well recently it was because we played the ball on the ground and were making good passes through the lines. So if that means we cannot do it since Morley left we need to get him or someone like him back in sharpish. I don't think Leahy or Bakindon can do it. Problem, MB rates Leahy.
Humphreys can do it but is needed further forward.
We looked tired last night, perhaps the week off will do them good.
Re: Rumour Mill
The one thing I've taken from these charts is that I really want to see a clip of that solitary goal, scored from around 25-30 yards out.
Re: Rumour Mill
Though there was dispute from some about checkbook opening, I think an owner and a manager being so in sync as to signings as Rob C and Gareth were, is a rare thing that perhaps we should all have appreciated more at the time.
A man with big money is going to want to make sure him and his team keep an eye on how it is spent, if they are making or denying signings without input (and we do not know for sure that is the case), perhaps it is another facet of modern management that both Matt and us have got to learn to deal with.
(If we keep improving, other teams are bound to want our best players, I'm not convinced they don't have any say, but I trust MB and his team can do the business with the players he gets.)

I just had a quick trip to Argentina, yet really struggled to fool it into forgetting I was from the UK. If anyone manages, spill your solution to this Patagonian problem
