Well, it may be reading too much into the situation, but Rice issued a short comment on each of the players recently sent on loan (Butcher/Hartridge/Hanlan), and Butcher was the only one where he said, “we look forward to seeing him back in the summer”.

The others got a more vague “we will be watching to see how they get on” kind of comment.

He’s definitely a solid L1 player and I think B Rovers have done very well there.
