Re: Rumour Mill
I understand the argument but frankly I couldn’t give a damn if we signed 12 players who were black, white, yellow, green or red. As long as they are good enough to wear the quarters. There’s nothing to suggest that skin colour is a factor in who we sign.

Re: Mike Dodds
Mike Dodds has a brand new thousand-piece jigsaw but there is no picture on the box

Re: Rumour Mill
You wouldn’t be at least a little curious if one of our new signings turns out to be green?

Re: Mike Dodds
Just watched Mike's first day at Harlington and noticed one he is not wearing his cap and two he has hair.
Re: Mike Dodds
No problems, I always had a warm welcome when I posted on here in our League 1 days. Good luck for the future.

In 2012 (13 years ago) Matt Bloomfield played 90 minutes for Wycombe Wanderers in a 2-1 League Two win over Tranmere Rovers at Adams Park.
Re: Mike Dodds
The one thing that stands out from the video is that Mike loves a hug. Not sure of the current etiquette in football but personally I would have thought a new head coach meeting the players a hand shake (normal one not the ‘cool’ one) would have been more appropriate to set the tone of I’m in charge

AI is not racist.
Its heart goes out to you.
At least that’s what I think Elon was trying to say.
Re: Match Day Thread: Cambridge
One of those you're delighted to hear sense prevailed but then really annoyed it meant we had to battle just to see a draw out rather than push on.
Was never violent in a million years, skim of the straight bit of the arm at most.

Re: Mike Dodds
Just thought I could give you a Sunderland perspective on Dodds appointment.
in his time here he has been key to developing a lot of our young talent, Dan Neil, Jobe and Rigg to name three. He is very popular with the players none of them have a bad word to say against him.
when he has been asked to fill a gap between managers he has has to say the least mixed results.
The first time was just a couple of days after he was signed as head of player development when Al x Neal jumped ship for more money and being told we were not going to sign journeyman players ever again. Only a couple of games with players he had never met at a club he had just joined. So don’t read too much into that. He was at Tony Mowbray’s side as we got to the play offs. He will have learnt from that period.
The second short period was between Mowbray leaving and the appointment of Beale, in this short spell he managed two very good tactical wins against Leeds and WBA, out thinking both coaches. That left us in the top five.
His third and longest period came after Beale had totally destroyed the team shape and confidence, Beale has to be the worst appointment as Sunderland manager in my almost sixty years of attending games. So he took on a very young team, average age of the starting eleven was just over 21! The kids had just sufferrrd some of the most bizarre coaching and team selections by Beale and were totally shot. He keep the squad together and despite the poor finish to the season, none of our talented team wanted to leave in the summer, which says a lot about how they saw Dodds.
This season he has worked with the new set up playing another totally different style of play and retained the confidence of all of the squad, just look at the comments after last nights game for confirmation.
in short he is a very good coach whose win loss record doesn’t reflect his ability as a potential manager. Starting his first proper manager role at Wycombe might just be perfect for him.
You might just have a gem of a manager on your hands. Take care of him, he is one of the god guys.
