Re: Match Day Thread: Preston (FA CUP)
Yep certainly Bolton, Mansfield, Huddersfield, and Northampton were all home games where we lacked a bit of creativity and guile.
i also heard somewhere (I think not the top 20 podcast) that even when we were free scoring earlier on the season that our actual goals scored was outperforming our expected goals
Re: Other Football
the dream scenario at the bottom of L1 is that Ainsworth keeps Shrewsbury up at Peterborough’s expense. Bristol Rovers would be quite funny too.
Re: Match Day Thread: Preston (FA CUP)
I 100% agree. I am hoping for evolution rather than revolution. We have come unstuck alittle in recent times and that needs work. Just hope the baby isn't thrown out with the bath water.
Re: Wycombe Wanderers Women
FT U18s 2-1 Andover New Street.
That moves the Chairgirls up to third, level with Oxford United on 15 points. Both are 15 points behind leaders Ascot United, who have won all ten games.
Re: Match Day Thread: Preston (FA CUP)
He said about being more clinical in front of goal. Since our incredible scoring run we have had a couple of games where we seem shot shy. More willing to make a pass than take a shot. When we played Barnsley we battered them with shot after shot and it paid off. We can overwhelm teams in attack with the talent we have, just maybe need to have a bit more self belief sometimes?
Re: Match Day Thread: Preston (FA CUP)
FWIW I don't think our "in possession" work has been nearly as good in the past 6 weeks or so. We were a free scoring side up until around Christmas, but though we've continued to get results (the sign of a great team), most of our recent goals have been the product of penalties or late winners. With that in mind, I don't think it's too controversial for Dodds to think our "in possession" play needs work.
Re: Rumour Mill
Every year we find & develop a couple of 10m gems and sell them on whilst we develop our own class of 92.

Blimey I’d like to think a group of professional athletes could recover from playing an extra 30 minutes of football after 7 days.
Re: Match Day Thread: Preston (FA CUP)
Yeah, interesting choice to give one to the guy who's not played since May. Oh well, promotion to win!

Still looks off the pace physically and mentally
