Re: Caleb Taylor returns until end of season..... Discuss
Great news.
I don't think there can be any doubt that the club are going all out to achieve promotion this season.

Re: New Manager Rumour Mill
Also, why would he have 'had the respect of the players because of what he did for Wycombe'? Most of them never played with him.

Some thoughts from Sunderland fans on the Mike Dodds rumour from their forum.
TL,DR: they think he's a fantastic coach but was an awful manager.
Equally, this is the same fanbase that thought Josh Scowen was a waste of space so probably wise to take everything with a pinch of salt.
Re: New Manager Rumour Mill
perhaps just ignore the ones that you find to be disrespectful?
Life is too damn short to keep getting narked by someone whose opinion/view you will not change
Re: New Manager Rumour Mill
Gareth had 10 years generally scraping the barrel to put together a threadbare team (often not having enough players to even fill a bench) plus doing mundane things outside the team to keep the club going. He had chances to leave, but stayed loyal until the poison chalice of QPR came along. Blooms generally did well in his relatively short managerial career with us but he had more support in terms of funding for players etc.
For me, Gareth did more for this club than anyone else in our history, but other opinions are available. Hope that makes sense without denigrating Blooms.

Re: New Manager Rumour Mill
I think when evaluating the two Sams, performances matter more than results, as we seriously could have won all three or lost all three. The way I see it:
Mansfield: Good performance at a difficult venue. Draw possibly fair result, but we gave as good as we got at one of the best teams in the league.
Northampton: Generally poor performance, but I believe this was more a product of the lineup and harder to be too negative about.
Barnsley: Great performance, could have thrashed them on another day.
I definitely think we need a head coach other than Grace for the long term, but I think that if you look at the performances above with a bit of context, I would not be too worried about the interim period going on longer. We'll see how that changes (or not) after Cambridge!

He's not going to sleep with you @Shev
That is mostly tongue in cheek but if you run around trying to whack all the Bloomfield haters, you're the one that will suffer in the end.
It was great while he was here. Yes, I lost the faith Xmas 2023 and thought it was time for him to go. He proved me wrong. I'm sad he's gone. But he is gone.
I had a dawning realisation today, and I don't know why its taken until today, but we will (likely) have a new manager that has had nothing to do with Wycombe Wanderers as a player and manager for the first time in over a decade. Its going to be weird.
Re: New Manager Rumour Mill
No betting market is normally the only market that can be trusted,
But this one has been such a clown show that I won't believe it until Mike Dodds has left us for a Championship club.
Re: New Manager Rumour Mill
From a handful of people maybe - we have to be careful not to let the loudest voices seem like the majority. I think - and I may be wrong to speak for others - that most Wycombe fans are disappointed he's gone, hugely grateful and respectful for everything he's done for our club, but slightly perplexed he chose this moment to leave for a club who are in a relegation fight and not a massive step up in stature. I also appreciate it's hard to truly understand his decision without knowing exactly what has happened behind the scenes.
The comparison with GA is a bit silly, IMO. Ainsworth was a truly legendary manager for us and took us beyond our wildest dreams. He left with our best wishes accordingly. MB simply didn't have the same tenure or success and can't be viewed the same way. But if we're comparing their status as players for WWFC, then of course the opposite is true.
