Re: Birmingham MOTM Poll
I certainly think you’re a great poster and I’m disappointed that your post hasn’t attracted more than 14 thumbs up. I suspect the main reason is that very few people will have visited this thread as they will already have voted on Saturday.
I have come here because I’ve been looking for the post in which someone commented that Adam Reach seemed very one footed. Maybe I’m wrong in thinking that his normal position is on the left (as per Wikipedia) and that is his dominant foot but, if I’m correct, the following showreel demonstrates that he also has an extremely useful right foot and can score worldies from 30 yards with it. Would be wonderful if he could come up with something similar with us because we are not blessed currently with players who are prepared to shoot from distance.
I obviously wasn’t expecting to hear that @drcongo was still talking about closing the Gasroom down. That is very sad indeed and I personally would be very distraught and would not welcome an alternative.
Here’s the Adam Reach footage:

Re: MISSING: Have you seen two WWFC Danish footballers.
I will repeat my previous comment, if you think just because he cost a bit of money the Danish Centre half should come straight in, who would you drop out of Low and Taylor and presumably bin Bradley all together?
Re: MISSING: Have you seen two WWFC Danish footballers.
The good thing about the transfers pre being data led was that all of them, every single time hit the ground running and were as good as whatever manager thought they would be at the time of signing.
wait, what? You mean there were some players signed that weren’t as good as people thought they would be before we were data led and some players won’t be as good as people think they will be, after we’re data led?
what witch craft is this? I thought data led was going to be the silver bullet that got it right 100% of the time (said no one ever. Not even DR)
All signings have always been “data led” btw.
Previously it was human gathered data - that’s what scouting teams did. Now it’s statistical data (which would have been put onto a computer largely from said human gathered data and, arguable could come from a much MUCH larger group of independent and in house scouting teams not just from your area, but across the country/europe/theworld.).
Re: MISSING: Have you seen two WWFC Danish footballers.
It's probably lucky for Dodds he's got a 3.5 year contract - if I was Dan Rice I wouldn't be best pleased about the public criticism of players I'd signed for the team at significant expense in January.

@Shev (Michael Shevlane) is a great guy. I’ve not met him face to face but we have corresponded at length via the Gasroom Direct Message facility over the past couple of years and what he doesn’t know about me and mrs micra personally isn’t worth knowing (or is best kept to ourselves!)
I sincerely hope that the strong antagonistic feelings that had been polluting the atmosphere in the Room have now cooled sufficiently for it to return to the civil, harmonious and enjoyable meeting place that gave it its five star rating.

Re: MISSING: Have you seen two WWFC Danish footballers.
I’d have absolutely no issue if he played them at the expense of other players if they improved the team, much like Simon’s coming in and taking the place of Leahy or Bakinson. Or basically any other player you sign and takes the place of another player.
Re: MISSING: Have you seen two WWFC Danish footballers.
I would've been delighted if they had replaced those that had got us second in the table if they had helped us secure more points in February than we managed to secure. Just like I was when Simons came into the team ahead of Leahy. Just like I was when Norris came into the team ahead of Ravizzoli. Just like I have when Reach or Back or Lowry play. Because they add value to the team. And adding value should, in theory, win more points and help secure promotion.
If the head coach has decided that a fully fit Westergaard, Hagelskjær and Berry don't add value to a League One team struggling for form then I cannot see how they will add value to a Championship team likely to be fighting to avoid relegation. And if that's the case, I think they were not sensible signings. (This is a repeat of the point I made earlier this morning, for your benefit, apologies to everyone else who've had to read it twice).
I admire Dodds for being candid when asked why the Danes weren't playing. I would, in Yes Minister speak, describe it as a brave decision. You can dress it up however you like but he's saying that he doesn't think fully fit, transfer-record-busting signings, are good enough for the current squad. They're behind Skura, Leahy and Bakinson. If I was Dodds' boss, and I had personally sanctioned those record-busting signings, my eyebrows would be quivering. If I was a man with thin skin, I might interpret that as public criticism that would be better kept behind closed doors.
Fortunately I'm sure Dan Rice is a better man than me.
And I'm pretty confident, Alan, that's something we might finally be able to agree on.
