Re: Funniest chants
I loved the one from the Terrace where it would go quiet and one guy would shout
"Everybody, shout Abuse at the keeper"
To the reply of "ABUSE!"
Then the guys shouts
"Everyone, shout More Abuse at the keeper"
To the reply of "MORE ABUSE!"
(Then real abuse would start for a few seconds)
Re: New Manager Rumour Mill
Not at all mate, don't claim to be ITK or anything. I only replied to a comment hopping wanderer made about missing out on Schumacher and I said we had our chance as the Bolton one wasn't available at the time.
AP replies with you don't know if we were even interested in him and I just said I know we've spoken to him. Was happy to leave it at that, but I got a comment how do you know for sure.
Don't have to justify myself to anyone, I've been posting on here and going the game long enough, I haven't just opened an account to start rumours.
As he says he's gone now and I think it's a great appointment by Bolton and a good opportunity for him at a big club.
Re: Richard Kone signs
Never been there but Ridley Scott based the cityscape of Blade Runner on Middlesbrough. Not sure that's a recommendation of the place, mind.
Re: Funniest chants
"Put your hand up if you're an idiot" always made me laugh when the ref gave an indirect freekick!
Re: Funniest chants
I was always amused by the chant “ Can you hear the Gurnum Singh” whenever he ref'd a game
Re: Funniest chants
@Gordon_Ottershaw said:
“ We’ll f@*king swear if we want to…” from the terrace in response to Beek’s swearing ban back in the 90s.
Oh I've heard about this. Brilliant.
Re: Funniest chants
When Gaz was player manager “how s#*t must you be our manager scored” always made me chuckle
Re: Funniest chants
Not sure if you'd describe this as a football chant or not, but I shall never forget a spontaneous rendition from the Woodlands of "Who do you think you are kidding, Mr Hitler" in response to a dubious decision given by a Captain Mainwaring look-a-like referee! Quite a few years ago now, and cannot remember who we were playing, or the final score.
Re: Funniest chants
Glad this thread has been revived. Need to go back 20+ years for my international favourite: "5-1, even Heskey scored" after England's legendary victory in Munich. Also on an international theme, the perennial "cheer up {Scotland manager}..." always raises a smile.
