Re: Match Day Thread: Stevenage
If it can cause havoc on the Gasroom just imagine what it can do to teenage minds.
Re: Match Day Thread: Stevenage
Either way, the next time I get one of those painfully patronizing comments about Americans not getting humour (though to be fair, I am only half American anyway), I am going to put a toothpick in my mouth, stare at the person with a steely glare, and say:
"Bud, humour done left town a loooong time ago."
Re: Blooms to Stoke
IMHO there is only 1 club that would tempt Blooms away from Wycombe in the forseeable future & that is Ipswich Town
Re: Attendance Prediction - Stevenage (a) - Boxing Day 26th Dec '24 - Match 21 in 24/25
I was pleasantly surprised by those numbers, especially as 1,000 fans were already committed to the Charlton game. It does suggest (a) that there could be around a further 500 pay on the day fans at the Valley on Sunday and (b) as in our family, more and more people are happy to receive cash as a gift at Christmas or having a ticket for a match bought for them.
Hopefully, the message is finally getting across about the beautiful and exciting football Wycombe are playing these days and will be reflected in improved home gates on a more regular basis.
Re: Other Football
Carroll, Guppy, 2 up and down mids.
Target man, nippy striker.
2 colossal centre backs, full backs who can defend.
Early to mid 90s every time.
Re: Other Football
Yup, oh for the likes of a Stan Bowles, Alan Hudson or Frank Worthington in the modern game.
*emits old man sigh*
Re: Man of the Match - Stevenage (A)
It does make me wonder just how big of a legend both Grimmer and Fred would become if we did get promoted, as they would have played a vital part in both legendary seasons!
Re: Other Football
Just saw him trying to mark Gabriel at a corner.
How on earth is that a sensible marking job?
Re: Man of the Match - Stevenage (A)
What a fantastic example Jack Grimmer is, both as a captain and player. Loses his place to a young player, doesn’t moan, works even harder and takes his change. For me, sums this club up at the moment.
