Re: Match Day Thread: Stevenage
In fairness, i expect very few of us even realised we had a tiktok page.
It's probably genius marketing
"get something silly on the tiktok that'll get those old bumheads on the gasroom flapping and get those engagement figures up"
Re: Match Day Thread: Stevenage
It’s not me being offended but I just feel that things like this, if from an official source, are just going to come back and bite us in the backside. That’s my point really.
Re: Match Day Thread: Stevenage
It's not offensive as such, it just feels a bit pathetic, as every club will have idiot online fans who write us off. You have to rise above this stuff, let the football talk. And my word it's talking loudly at the moment.
I much favour the Gaz method - talk up the opposition, say what a great job xxx is doing, how great their club is, and not leave even a morsal they can work off to give them extra motivation.
I mean, not EVERY team we played could possibly have a great manager, team and history - that always made me laugh.
Re: Match Day Thread: Stevenage
You'd probably chuckle if one of the drone army put it up on the facebook page.
But when you consider it's come from a paid employee of our club, presumably an adult, on an official club channel you do think wow.
Re: Other Football
I might be getting old, but the premier league seems like it's the least exciting version it's been for a long time.
Every team constantly play it out from the back, every team chase like demons, everything is athleticism over innovation.
Every team has a stack of data so we're getting closer to robot football.
Maybe that's how it'll be in 2030 onwards - each club's scientists build a squad of robots they can program tactics in. Cheaper than current players too.
Re: Match Day Thread: Stevenage
@Shev are you telling me those aren’t recordings of the actual opposition fans commenting on RTB’s!?
Re: Match Day Thread: Stevenage
You don't have to, just click on the link someone posted a page or so back.
Looked like something one of the "it's just banter" kids from the terrace would post mocking Stevenage's defending on the weekend, then we all realised it seems to be from an official club tiktok.
Unless we're missing something, being old bastads and that.
Re: Match Day Thread: Stevenage
The whole thing is disgusting, why on earth would a club like ours be involved in this sort of rubbish. Maybe @glasshalffull or @bluntphil could question this mocking of another club on our behalf? Questions need to be asked and an apology published.
Re: Match Day Thread: Stevenage
I understand what you are saying @Shev and always respect your views but if it was from an official source then it is not something I think we should be getting involved in. I can understand supporters taking the rise out of each other and that is something different.
Maybe being an oldie, I am over sensitive about this type of thing but it doesn’t feel nice to me.
Re: Aaron Morley
Morley is Bolton's player. If the intention was to loan him out to get minutes to get him firing for their first team, then they've done that successfully. Bolton sent out a player worth nothing to them, and now have a £500k player on their books. Fantastic for them if you ask me.
Put the shoe on the other foot, if Jack Young, for example, started ripping up trees on loan - we would have him back in our team!
