Re: New Manager Rumour Mill
Sam Grace's strength is player development and we should get him back to doing that asap, just look at the players he has brought through so far at Wycombe.
He has done really well at the job the club asked him to do in recent weeks, but you can see he is doing it from a sense of duty & love for the club & the players rather than because it is his burning ambition to be a head coach.
He will always be remembered for steadying the club at a very rocky time and for that we should be eternally grateful.
Re: Match Day Thread: Barnsley
I’m not going to lie. I didn’t want to go last night. I’d had a rubbish day at work and was expecting another night of knock it long to Hanlan but this time getting destroyed by a good side. My enthusiasm was low. I went out of duty rather than really wanting to go.
But last night was every reason you go to football for. Our side giving it their all, the better side and giving us that last minute moment you dream of as a football fan. The whole club needed that so much.
And the first thing I’ve done this morning? Other than watching a rerun of the winner dozens of times? Booked Cambridge tickets for me and my son.
Re: New Manager Rumour Mill
To be fair though, its his first 3 games ever in charge of a first team (same for Vokes). If he learns and gets better from here, its a very solid starting platform.
Re: Match Day Thread: Barnsley
Absolutely tremendous. Great to see and well done to everyone tonight. Management team, players and fans all superb. What a night!
Re: Match Day Thread: Barnsley
10 goals ahead of the nearest scorers, Birmingham and Peterborough. Incredible stuff!
Re: New Manager Rumour Mill
Agreed. Sam is a top fella but best kept where he's strongest.
Your take on the thin line between highs and lows over the last game is really spot on. In the delight at the winner it's very easy to forget how a mad 2min of pen and red card absolutely opened that game up.
Re: Match Day Thread: Barnsley
I've just rewatched the highlights on Youtube and its got me all pumped up for the day!
One thing I've noticed, that I didn't see last night, how quickly Bradley appeared at the referee's side for the Red Card to try and influence the decision but then goes to hug / console the player?
Re: Match Day Thread: Barnsley
Excellent summary. This forum has been a shade toxic of late but we can all agree that we follow a very special football club irrespective of who is in charge on the touch line or in the boardroom. The Wycombe spirit will always shine through.
