Re: Match Day Thread: Cambridge
The longer this search goes on, and each game we tick over the wins, the more they'll have to entertain the idea of staying as we are until the summer.
Sam's a good coach, has his badges, had experience as a coach at Reading before being delighted to get back to his home team and he knows the players. So we could do worse.
Then a long term coach could be found in the summer potentially, when it might be an easier find. Plus with Rice overseeing transfers we wouldn't lose time which is the normal risk with not having a manager in situ.
Re: Match Day Thread: Cambridge
You ready with your prepared comment about inclusion/exclusion of King Rich, @Malone.
Re: Match Day Thread: Cambridge
McCoist is my absolute fave, lives for the game and you usually get a bonus history lesson too
Re: Match Day Thread: Cambridge
McCoist is an absolute joy to listen to on co-coms.
Re: Match Day Thread: Cambridge
No denying he's a good coach. The average tenure in the efl in the 19-20 season (don't know the up to date stat) was 423 days. We have been blessed and got used to having longer term managers. So I personally don't mind a 'merry go manager' if they have had good experiences and haven't jumped ship at the first better offer. To me if we're going to appoint a young up and coming manager with limited first team experience then why rock the boat and change things when we have Grace and Vokes doing a good job so far? Replacing them with experience at this level or higher then fair enough. To me Dodds would seem an odd appointment.
Re: Match Day Thread: Cambridge
Agreed. He might present non football related programs but why is that an issue.
I can't imagine anyone who watches football prefers the Dixon morose approach versus the uplifted Dublin, McCoist types.
Re: Rumour Mill
Rumoured with us early on, Villa's Sil Swinkels supposedly going to Bristol Rovers on loan
Re: Rumour Mill
Kudua and Morley to sign Monday. No information. No ITK. Just a nice way to end the window.
Hanlan and Wheeler exiting on loan to balance the squad a little.
Re: Match Day Thread: Cambridge
Very different being chucked in as interim after a sacking. As has been pointed out elsewhere, he must be a good coach or he wouldn't have been kept on by a succession of managers / head coaches. Would honestly rather this than someone who's been around the merry-go-round countless times.
