Re: Rumour Mill
Professional debt, yes. Personal debt, he might think he has a little way to go. If he's the player I think he is, he'll want to pay back and help those teammates he's been working alongside to help them achieve the dream goal of promotion
Re: New Manager Rumour Mill
Very difficult one, as the top players often struggle with lesser players, even if their "motivation" skills get them some early success.
Re: New Manager Rumour Mill
Our new huge youth set-up will certainly pay attention to everything Ashley says, if only because he might shoot one of them.
Re: New Manager Rumour Mill
It's one hell of a difficult appointment really. The exact opposite on the spectrum to the last appointment.
We need someone who will buy into being a head coach, not a manager, understand that they'll not be the decision maker on transfers and face sky high expectations from day 1 fuelled by our recent spends. They also need to play the "right" style of football to suit a squad they've not assembled.
On the plus point, they're coming into a really exciting opportunity, will pick up a really strong squad and it's not often you get to walk into a team sitting in the top 2 of the league!
Re: New Manager Rumour Mill
Note to self: Use "twelvety" more.
Second note to self: Nominate @Malone as Czar of making the English language more fun.
Re: New Manager Rumour Mill
Hateful wretch of a player, shamed himself with that "almost crashed his car" quote at an the idea of a mere 50k a week contract offer.
But can he win against the likes of Northampton putting twelvety men behind the ball? That's the key consideration here.
