Re: Man of the Match - Bristol Rovers (H)
Late to the party.... agree with all the comments.
Simons was fantastic last night. Head always up looking for the next pass/opportunity and if there isn't one happy to recycle the ball, find space and go again.
Back was fantastic. Looks very similar to Harvie in that he wants to get forwards and he is more than happy to get stuck into a tackle.
My only critiques:
Scowen lacking the quality of a final pass (a few maybe moments or given away in good positions having done excellent work to get there).
Norris - surprised he just looks to hit it long the majority of the time. 50% of the time I can see he is trying to pick a long pass but 50% its aimless.

Re: Match Day Thread: Bristol Rovers
When it was clear Morley AND Taylor were off, there were some real gloomy scenes on here.
It sort of morphed into just missing Morley alone and when we re-signed Taylor there was almost a sort of it's good but not the real big signing we wanted.
But make no mistake, you don't have a player like Taylor and not play him.
It might be harsh on Bradley, but then it was a bit harsh on Rav to suddenly miss out. But both Taylor and Norris are clear steps up and it should be all about the team at the end of the day.
There's a few midweekers we can rotate it around a bit, or field Bradley when there's an especially rugged striker to deal with, but Taylor can deal with all sorts himself.

Re: Match Day Thread: Bristol Rovers
Apologies, I meant to say 4am but I’m intrigued by your late night meals with the PM did he have a daal?
Re: Match Day Thread: Bristol Rovers
In the 3CR interview, he sounded like he was a bit fed up of being asked the same question about Kone and just got it out the way quickly. Fair enough. I like him in general, and I hope the people writing him off at the weekend have reflected on how silly a snap judgment that was.

Re: Match Day Thread: Bristol Rovers
I have now listened to the interview on the site and have to say, he seemed to have measured thoughtful responses to Phil's questions. I don't find him to be any more stumbling or media untrained than anyone else I've heard. To be honest, he seemed to be a man in control.

Re: Match Day Thread: Bristol Rovers
Agree that Dodds provides more transparent and considered responses on the squad situation than we've been used to under Ainsworth and Bloomfield. Maybe it will be media coached out of him, but its nice to know which players are unlikely to be available or selected and why.

Fred on his day is unplayable...but not on his day and Udoh or Lubala offer more in my opinion.
The problem is...we never know if it's Fred's day or not until about 60 minutes in.

The Rovers forum is great entertainment tbf. It has been for years
Re: Man of the Match - Bristol Rovers (H)
In one start, Simons now has almost exactly as many MOTM votes for the season as Leahy and Lubala (30 starts) combined. That is some way to come out of the gate!
