Re: Rumour Mill
Yes those three were not really that good but Potts, Taylor and Lonwijk were excellent.
Re: New Manager Rumour Mill
Think that’s a case of putting a positive spin on it as they had already been turned down by at least one candidate within 10 days of Bloomfield exit.
Re: Reading offer Bearwood training ground to Wycombe
Oh my goodness. Rob is hanging on to the training ground despite being paid back further causing other talks to break down.
The man left us to retire to a quiet life and less than a year later has somehow got himself neck deep in an international lawsuit against a Chinese national with one of our local rivals caught in the middle. What on earth is he thinking?
Re: Birmingham game moved
From the club website:
Please note that the fixture with Birmingham falls on the weekend of the Emirates FA Cup fifth round and will be postponed if either side progresses to this stage of the competition
Re: Richard Kone signs
Agree. Given the current circumstances, I assume DR will view he is not for sale at any price right now and that will be reviewed again in the summer.
Re: Richard Kone signs
Kone wasn't in the squad on Saturday according to rumours. Then he was.
I cannot see us selling him for low millions with add-ons which may or may not come to fruition. Let them cough up.
He wants promotion with the team that gave him a chance if his interview is to be taken on face value. We don't have to sell, we're near the end of the season with promotion on the line and we cannot get a decent striker in to replace him in time in this window.
If someone does give us 10 mill up front and loan him back for the rest of the season, I could live with that, but if the management group are as savvy as we think (hope) they are I expect them to wait until May and watch the numbers rise.
Re: New Manager Rumour Mill
I'd be very careful with that, Very difficult to get it back once lost, and a couple of million spent this January doesn't mean we can always throw unlimited money at every problem.
Why would you ever drop simple checks to ensure people are decent humans and collective culture is good.
Re: New Manager Rumour Mill
Bradley has obviously been superb since coming in, but Low and Taylor were an imperious partnership in the first half of the season. One of the best CB pairings this club has ever had. Bradley can feel hard done by, but I'd be reverting to that pair with Bradley, Skura and Anders ready to rotate whenever needed.
Re: New Manager Rumour Mill
Caleb Taylor interview with Phil suggests he has told Joe Low there is a competition with him for goals. Would suggest Low isn’t leaving. Also maybe Low/Taylor are the preferred choice.
Re: New Manager Rumour Mill
The good thing is...the interim team seem to be keeping us competitive so the management group can make sure they pick the right person for the job. (Not Stevie G or Rooney if at all possible...)
Anyone who loses a game gets it in the neck. It's very rare even in our unbeaten run that we looked completely on top, but that's League One football. Northampton was a classic top v bottom game in my opinion...and we did not lose it. Both Mansfield and Barnsley were typical Wycombe never say die performances for me which is very encouraging.
We can worry about who is coming in next to screw it all up for us...but at present the Sams and co are doing all right.
