Re: Funniest chants
"Put your hand up if you're an idiot" always made me laugh when the ref gave an indirect freekick!
Re: Funniest chants
I was always amused by the chant “ Can you hear the Gurnum Singh” whenever he ref'd a game

Oh I've heard about this. Brilliant.
Re: Funniest chants
When Gaz was player manager “how s#*t must you be our manager scored” always made me chuckle
Re: Funniest chants
Not sure if you'd describe this as a football chant or not, but I shall never forget a spontaneous rendition from the Woodlands of "Who do you think you are kidding, Mr Hitler" in response to a dubious decision given by a Captain Mainwaring look-a-like referee! Quite a few years ago now, and cannot remember who we were playing, or the final score.
Re: Funniest chants
Glad this thread has been revived. Need to go back 20+ years for my international favourite: "5-1, even Heskey scored" after England's legendary victory in Munich. Also on an international theme, the perennial "cheer up {Scotland manager}..." always raises a smile.
Re: Funniest chants
Used to quite like "we're the famous Wycombe Wanderers and our swans will break your arms"
At least it was original
Re: New Manager Rumour Mill
Stating the obvious but we need to be extremely careful with who we appoint. An experienced manager (coach) will no doubt want to change the way we play, have a different approach to man management etc etc. We want someone to takeover who's happy to change very little on and off the pitch (at least at present). Not sure there are many experienced managers out there who fit the bill.
Re: New Manager Rumour Mill
I am not so sure . It is easy to have this sentiment after 7 points in three games but we rode our luck in all three of those games. We were less than convincing. 2nd half at Manfield and it could have gone very differently, they battereded us in the second half . Northampton was an awful performance. I fear a few are getting a little doe eyed because of the emotion of Tuesday night . If Barnsley had not missed their absolute sitter again it could have gone very differently and they were down to 10 men. In short luck has also played a part in those 7 points. We have a huge March coming up and how are things going to feel if we lose a couple on the bounce.Who says a new manager has to change anything until next season anyway ? The games against B'ham Wrexham and Huddersfield are going to be pressure games and need some real tactical prowess to negotiate them . If we lose a couple the atmosphere from the fans will change and the pressure will mount. An inexperienced Sam Grace will have to deal with that .Having said all of this ,it is increasingly starting to feel like the owners may share your opinion rather than mine. Either way I think some feedback from them would not hurt . If they are going to stick with the Sam's then they should announce this . I don't think this tumble weed is helping stability at all.
