Re: Loan watch
I don't think it is unfair to say that Butcher saved our season. We were in a total funk and his play allowed others to perform. Hence why so many have a soft spot for him. And he seems like a really decent chap.
Re: The season starts now...
Good interview by Phil on this weeks "Pre-Match Drills" with MD - he touched on the hard but honest conversations he is going to have to undertake with players regarding who is in the matchday squad & who isnt.
Fingers crossed re Kone, we weren't as sharp or as clinical in front of goal last Saturday without him.
Re: The season starts now...
Crawley have just beaten Stevenage 3-1, whilst only losing to Bolton and Wrexham through very last minute winners. Burton are currently 6 games unbeaten. These won't be easy - I expect Crawley to give us a really tough game tomorrow.

Re: Loan watch
It may be reading too much into a stock media comment, but out of all of the recent senior loans that were made, Butcher was the only one where Dan Rice explicitly said that the club looked forward to him coming back in the summer - the likes of Hanlan and Hartridge got a more non-commital, “we’ll be monitoring their progress”.

Re: Today...
...in 2016 (nine years ago) Matt Bloomfield played 90 minutes for Wycombe Wanderers in a 1-0 League Two win over Exeter City at Adams Park.
In 2024 (one year ago) Matt Bloomfield was manager of Wycombe Wanderers for a 2-1 League One defeat to Bolton Wanderers at the University of Bolton Stadium.
Re: Birmingham and Burton KO moved
We have a block of safe standing at Adams Park don't we? Albeit a very small block at the end of the Family Stand.
Shrewsbury certainly have it behind the home goal, towards the back.
Re: Attendance Prediction - Crawley Town (a) - Sat 15th Feb '25 - Match 30 in 24/25
!6 predictions on record so far and we are saying:
(I know they don't add up - it is because the averages are rounded to the nearest whole number)
@James has a point
Regular forecasters might know that I allow alterations in only one circumstance - in this sort of circumstance is allowed to convert opposition supporters into Wycombe supporters. It happened first for a meeting at the three sided place. On this occasion I think it is possible that our scintillating football and raucous support may well give some local 7 or 8 year olds cause to think about us in the future if (as) we progress up the pyramid.
So no changes to any total attendance predictions will be acceepted but if anyone wishes they can increase their prediction for the number of Wycombe fans.
Anyway I am going to take advantage of the rule and revise my early prediction of 753 Wycombe fans to 1001 and plan to arrive at the stadium early.
If any other early forecasters want to make this type of alteration, the format that I have used would be helpful and at least reduce the change of a mistake in data entry.
Happy predicting to all.
The season starts now...
Have seen this cliché trotted out a few times following our F.A. Cup exit. I guess it has a ring of truth about it. Our first league game under our new head coach. Our new, somewhat bloated, squad having had almost a fortnight to be assimilated.
I think it would be fair to say Mike Dodds couldn't have asked for a much kinder set of fixtures to begin his tenure.
We won took 15 points from a possible 18 available in the reverse fixtures in the first half of the season, scoring 12 goals and conceding seven.
As for the bloated squad, I make it 29 first teamers, which means eleven won't make the squad each week.
Goalkeepers (3); Franco Ravizzoli, Shamal George, Will Norris.
Defenders (9): Dan Harvie, Fin Back, Jack Grimmer, Jasper Pattenden, Anders Hagelskjaer, Caleb Taylor, Declan Skura, Joe Low, Sonny Bradley.
Midfielders (8): Adam Reach, Alex Lowry, Cameron Humphreys, Josh Scowen, Luke Leahy, Magnus Westergaard, Tyreeq Bakinson, Xavier Simons.
Attackers (9): Fred Onyedinma, Garath McCleary, Gideon Kodua, James Berry, Kieran Sadlier, Beryly Lubala, Daniel Udoh, Richard Kone, Sam Vokes
Obviously there are some injuries, with half-a-dozen doubts or outs for tomorrow's trip to Crawley Town.
George (groin), Grimmer (calf), Pattenden (hamstring), Berry (hamstring), Sadlier (hernia surgery) and Kone (knee).
The likes of Back, Hagelskjaer, Reach, Lowry, Westergaard and Vokes probably aren't match-fit either.
