I thought someone had said he made those comments in his post match interview on Saturday. I could very well be wrong about that, and I'm not re-reading the thread to find it.

Having said that, even if MB did say something to the effect like "any new signings are on the board" he might simply mean that he and the team have identified players and now it's down to the board to negotiate to bring the players in. Quite frankly that would be entirely sensible since his priority must be to work with the players he has to bring about a change in results.

So much can be made out of almost any comment, especially if it's misquoted - which happens deliberately aometimes I'm sure. Far better to include the actual video/audio when referring to what's been said. Even then you need to know the context in which the comment was made to even begin to understand what it means.

However I don't think you can say it's complete made up lie either without evidence, that merely remains an opinion. It would be an opinion I agree with in the absence of any evidence to the contrary.
