Re: New Manager Rumour Mill
Since "thumbgate" things seem to have become less civilised. Hopefully this will be a wake up call for all of us to calm down and respect each others views. For some like the venerable micra this is an essential service we can't afford to lose.
As others have said I am quite happy to contribute towards the good Doctor's expenses.
Re: Rumour Mill
I think Leahy is a terrific player but I don't think his athleticism is his biggest strength. So putting him in the role that Morley made his does leave us weaker. I also prefer Butcher in the middle along with Scowen and Humphreys has he does the 'simple' work allowing them to be more attacking and mobile.
Harvie is the best left back for sure, Leahy is an excellent left back. Leaves stuck in between positions and players. Which is great for us not so much for him.
My only disappointment with Leahy recently is his set pieces seems to have dropped off. He was almost JJ level of consistency on corners. Now less so.
Re: New Manager Rumour Mill
This is the worrying thing - from all the names bandied around so far there hasn't been any sort of consensus who we'd actually want.
A new manager has a heck of a job to pick us straight up, integrate 4 new signings who have barely seemed to have played much in months (even Berry has a very patchy record) and keep the pressure up at the top.
Better pressure than being at the bottom though.
Re: New Manager Rumour Mill
Here, here. I am not sure you appreciate what an essential service you have provided for the people of the Gasroom and the impact it has made on our lives.
I don’t always agree with some of your points but that is life and I do know you put an awful lot into this platform and I appreciate all you do for us.
Please stick with us we are a Gasroom family and families sometimes go through some bumpy waters but together we can get past this point.
Re: New Manager Rumour Mill
Wholeheartedly agree with this @Erroll_Sims and with @Brownie.
I was very sad and emotional over MB’s departure and the circumstances surrounding it; I would be distraught and devastated if I could no longer spend at least a couple of hours every day - yes, I’ve become extremely slow in my old age - writing and reading posts on virtually every thread and searching for/acting upon (copying and pasting) snippets of information about the Wanderers and related matters.
I appreciate, @drcongo, that any decision to close down the Gasroom would be based on much wider considerations than the financial element but, to the extent that this might swing your decision towards carrying on, I would be very much in favour of chipping in.
Sincerely hope that you will decide to continue to provide this excellent and essentially civilised outlet for our thoughts and feelings. Thank you for having done so for so long.
Re: Match Day Thread: Northampton
And as it turns out, not the case at Luton either.
he said over the weekend the transfers are all on the Board and not him.
