Re: New Manager Rumour Mill
Amazing what offering your successful manager a contract renewal can do to show them you want them to stay as manager.

Rasmus says no...

"Randers fans can breathe a sigh of relief.
Tipsbladet recently revealed that English side Wycombe Wanderers were in dialogue with Randers coach Rasmus Bertelsen and his assistant Fatah Abdirahman about the vacant coaching position at the ambitious League One club.
Tipsbladet can now reveal that the parties have been in intensive dialogue in recent days, but Rasmus Bertelsen has just chosen to turn down the great opportunity.
As Tipsbladet understands it, the English had otherwise been incredibly keen on the Danish coaching duo, and were willing to go to great lengths to lure Bertelsen and Abdirahman to the English side. Wycombe have sent many attractive offers to Bertelsen and Abdirahman in recent months, but despite this, Wycombe Wanderers must find their new coach elsewhere.
Wycombe Wanderers have recently acquired new owners, and they undeniably have a keen eye for Danish players and coaches. Earlier in January, the English club bought Anders Hagelskjær and Magnus Westergaard from Molde and Viborg respectively.
There is no doubt that Rasmus Bertelsen has done a masterful job in Randers, who this season are at the top of the Superliga – only three points behind the leading team FC Copenhagen.
Rasmus Bertelsen has Randers blood in his veins, and a few months ago he extended his contract until 2028.
Bertelsen has been in charge of Randers for 64 matches, where he has had Fatah Abdirahman on the sidelines.
Tipsbladet has been in contact with Randers' sports director Søren Pedersen, referring to his statements in connection with the story the other day, where he said the following
– From my chair, it's a big pat on the back. We're happy that other clubs are interested in our employees, because it's a sign that Randers and Rasmus have done well. But Rasmus is not going away, he said."

Re: New Manager Rumour Mill
Has the football we've been playing since August surpassed Gormania for sheer entertainment? Even though it didn't end how we wanted, the football was fantastic.
Re: New Manager Rumour Mill
Hmm…given the amount of complaining when we’re getting draws against sides that have come to shut up shop and stop us playing, I really can’t see that a Gorman return would be the answer.
Re: Match Day Thread: Northampton
I think one of the things that gets ignored is the fact that nearly every team visiting AP see us as a top tier team now and line up defensively and are more than happy to take a point off us. We have certainly found teams difficult to break down at home. Our away form is still very good as teams try and have a go at us on their own patch.
The Aaron Morley knack of releasing our midfield and front players with defence cutting passes has now gone but hopefully we can regain this balance with our new lads coming into the match day squad.
We are in an amazing place being three points ahead of Wrexham and all to play for. I am sure teams like Huddersfield and Wrexham for that matter, would prefer to have our league position.
Re: Attendance Prediction - Northampton Town (h) - Sat 25th Jan '25 - Match 27 in 24/25
Top Twenty for the Total Crowd: [Actual 5446]
For Gasroom Dwellers who visit the attendance threads here is some cheerful news for the morning.
Firstly, very many congratulations to @perfidious_albion, Forecaster of the Week with a flourish! Missed the actual attendance by just two which is now the best individual prediction of the season so far. Well done sir.
Eleven forecasters were within one hundred of the actual attendance - plus our average prediction from a total of 35 forecasts was 5406 out by just 40. Take a collective bow forecasters. Indeed, on this occasion, perhaps symbolically, perhaps not, 'data driven' Chat gpt - missed by the most (4700 missed by 746) and if Chatgpt's prediction is removed from the equation our average was 5427 missing by just 19. @PJS was as good as our collective wisdom and only the stellar prediction of @perfidious_albion improved on it. Take a collective bow Gasroom Forecasters.
Seeing as I have followed a great Gasroom tradition of swerving away from the ostensible subject I want to make sure @manchesterchairboy continues to coax an answer from chat gpt, I personally find it always entertaining and sometimes illuminating. Now I promise that further thoughts on this will go in a more appropriate thread.
Congratulations to @PJS: @DevC; @robin; @Commoner; @wwfcblue: myself; @DJWYC14; @DJWYC14; @93Chairboy; @thecatwwfc and lastly and leastly (for his Gasroom handle) @micra - all of us were within one hundred.
Top Twenty for the Away Crowd: [Actual 587]
And the cheerful news continues ....
Very many congratulations indeed to @silverfox for a spot on prediction, doesn't happen often so getting a load of Cobblers absolutely correct is absolutely not a load of cobblers.
Congratulations to @bookertease; @NewburyWanderer for the single digit misses.
Congratulations to @robin who only just missed out on a single digit miss. Congratulations to the fine bunch of people -@LDF; @Onlooker: @thecatwwfc; @Commoner and myself who all were possibly unlucky to miss by thirteen.
Congratulations to @93Chairboy; @DJWYC14; @Mandown; @SmiroludyBlue; @our_frank and @wwfcblue who complete those who were all within 5% which on this occasion was 29.3.
Our collective average was 607, out by 20, so a collective pat on the back due there.
Top Twenty for the Home Crowd: [Calculated 4859]
Many congrautlations be to both @BSE and @BicesterB - for the pure poetry - close to heaven to miss by just seven. A good 2nd attempt @BicesterB!
@ShitcagoWWFC; @PJS: @wwfcblue; @ryan_w_kirkby2: myself; @perfidious_albion; @micra; @robin: @Commoner: @MindlessDrugHoover; @93Chairboy:@Erroll_Sims: @DJWYC14 and @thecatwwfc are all to be congratulated for being within one hundred of this important number, just shy of 5000.
Not surprisingly with so many being within one hundred, our collective average was not far out too - 4809, out by 50.
The 'Tour de Season' thread will have some changes to the Leaderboard this week. The plan is to post that later today.
