I checked whois, and that site said that was the year the domain was first registered.
Some might see it as a Winkelman-esque attempt to claim the Gasman’s proud history, but I think its worth noting just how long this place has been about due to the people’s efforts who came before us.

Hello pal, I’m sure I’m missing something, but I’ve lost the text box that allows me to post anything other than a reply. Yesterday it was at the bottom of the thread, today they all look like the attached.
It’s the blue button with the white arrow, bottom right of your screenshot.
The grey arrows inside each post let you respond to a specific user.
The larger blue button is to reply to the thread, without responding to someone.

I found the thumbs down option quite useful as a way to see if my ‘quips’ were funny or not. Now I’ll never know. If it were used on this forum I doubt it would be abused very much as people can’t hide behind anonymity.

Successfully managed to update my default page to “Latest” and to set a larger font thanks to the above advise from @DrCongo.
I’m just confused by the significance of the number on the RHS and the meaning of the different colours?
Oh and the Privacy box is still there, as per an earlier post by ?, despite having accepted the conditions.

@Twizz it was mentioned elsewhere that the privacy box is legally required to be displayed at all times.
I have removed the progress counter, as it is fairly pointless. It is meant to show you how many posts you have read so far in a thread, and how many are left.
We will likely change the consent management platform we use, as its not very customisable, and the persistent privacy button seems annoying and unpopular. Other CMPs offer better ways to give the user the ability to change their preferences at any time.
Why are the number of replies listed in different colours in this view …
I’ve now figured out how to include an image and how to edit a post.
I think it’s a colour scale - threads with more comments go closer to red, to symbolise it being a “hot topic”

Although maybe related to thread views rather than posts? The Shrewsbury (H) Curse (number) 9 is quite a bright orange.
I’ve just discovered that new Gasroom is installable as a web app on iPhones.
Doing this gives you a Gasroom icon on the home screen, and when you launch from there you don’t have the usual browser controls like tabs and a url bar, so it behaves more like a native app. Not only that, but you can also then get proper notifications when someone replies to you.
Didn’t know web apps were a thing. I added it to my home screen the other day and just thought I’d set something wrong!
