The Watford Observer used to be excellent for sport as well with the great Oli Phillips covering football for years and years
Haven't seen it in ages though
Yeah, used to have decent write ups on the Sunday leagues.
The Wycombe Star used to do the same for local youth football.
I believe some members of this parish once wrote the Wycombe reports for the Star as well, and very good they were too
Also, at the ground one is more likely to be about five pints in, which helps no-one when making a tactical analysis
I'm with you though. I think back on the hundreds of games I've seen over the years and the overwhelming memory is how they made …

Poor old Rocky. It’s not like he’s Parkin or Cheesewright is it?
No, he isn't at all.
But a debate over who should play in goal is the sort of thing all fans discuss isn't it?
I actually agree that it's harsh. Stockdale has been picked for England squads and had played in the premier league.
It's an unfair comparison.
The real question is why has a keeper with such pedigree been left out of the team for so long? My …
I've only just noticed (haven't really been paying attention because they're not really relevant to us anymore) that Col U seem to be sliding back towards the conference
Absolutely lovely scenes
I could be way off the mark here but I personally think the player that Anthony Stewart became last season, culminating in what for me was the greatest individual performance I have ever seen in a Wycombe shirt at Wembley, and now sees him deservedl…
I thought the commentary team was really good yesterday, was impressed with Dan Simpson's debut. He's got a great broadcasting voice and I was impressed when at times he offered a slightly critical view. Was always constructive and never crossed the…

Maybe I just saw what I…
We looked significantly weaker following the substitutions if you ask me. Can understand leaving the starting line up as it was for as long as possible
I think the defender's arm across Fred makes it a penalty (like Aaron Pierre v Spurs) but I also think he did it in such a way as the ref would have been unsighted.
Nil nil probably a fair reflection of how the game went.
He's acknowledged 3 things:
1) the goal disallowed for offside should have been allowed. I haven't seen one person claim otherwise
2) the penalty we got was indeed a penalty - again, who is claiming otherwise?
3) the penalty claim we had fo…

I am deeply sorry that having said that I - as in me - find the term generals a bit 'naff' (apologies) I seem to have insulted our glorious war dead, undermined team morale and condemned the c…
Never offside in a million years. Absolute desperation to claim otherwise.
There were enough decisions go against us without dragging that in (I didn't actually think it was a free kick in the first place as it goes - thought their player lost co…
