  • Shame DA didn't mention the three one on ones we created. Did he mention Carey play acting to get JJ booked when there was no contact. I had a perfect view and the lino was a yard away & didn't flag! Also did DA mention the attempt by Carey to rake his studs down JJs leg after the two had collided right in front of the Argyle bench? A tad of green myopia methinks.

Plymouth fans seem somewhat blind to their own team's physicality, play acting and outright cheating. Surprised Bayo's shirt survived the game, the amount of pulling it got.

Off the ball hits. Keeper faking injury. Groundsman trying to stop warmup. Physios on pitch when not allowed.

Embarrassing mate. Take the win but don't try to justify it.

  • Westley was the all time king of horrific cheaty gamesmanship. The organised fake injuries mid half for tactical re-shuffles, the sharing the fouls out etc.
When we played them, we never had to resort to whinging about it after the game.

Derek Adams is using the classic deflection approach, as bar one shot hitting the bar you never vaguely threatened. And i'd say you were pretty lucky we missed 2-3 great chances to take it to the comfy win it should have been.

Pretty lucky to stay with a full eleven too, but I dare say no one in green will admit to that.

Congrats on the 3 points. Ends justify the means and all that.
You might want to reflect on one thing.
When every other manager over the years says you time waste. When all fans say you play act and when opposition players say you're trying to get them booked...then maybe it's because everyone else has a point and you should be embarrassed to defend it. It's really up to you what you accept is being done in the name of your club.
But hey you boys crack on with the sly stuff.

Enjoy league two next season, where maybe Derek Adams and his Plymouth team can showcase their
    Barcelonaesque skills to greater effect.
Unless, of course the twat is sacked on Monday.

Ohhh, I see, it was our fault you were shite.

Break in play for an injury. Your keeper takes the ball and when the ref isn't looking kicks it to the corner.
    Embarrassing or not?

You may not care for our style of play when ahead but did it occur to you that your team might wish to have more than one shot on target over the ninety minutes that the game was in play, including the time the referee quite properly added on? Perhaps you'd like to lose a game that had a bit more pizzazz so you could go home with a warmer, fuzzier feeling? Forgive us for doing our best to deny you the opportunity to come back today.

we were crap but stopping the other team play and minimising the time the ball is in play by play acting is pathetic and cheating and embarrassing for you club, I came to watch a game of football

Sorry we stopped you playing, how dare we. Oh well , we needed the three points to help ensure our safety. Good luck in league two next season.

Let's be honest pal, your arse of a manager has fallen out with most other managers in L 1& 2 .
Rather have ours who is always generous in defeat and only ever blames himself if we have a negative result. Ainsworth doesn't whinge & whine blaming everything and everyone but himself.

Plymouth fan here, we were awful first half and not much better 2nd, but no wonder you cant fill a small ground and have the atmosphere of a library, do you really enjoy watching that shite every week, there are more important things than winning and as a spectacle it was truelly awful, your keeper was a disgrace , does he realise how pathetic he looks, you may think its good old Wycombe beating the odds by using their limited resources to maximum effect, but its not its just pathetic cheating and spoiling a Saturday afternoon for everyone including you

OK - we can't fill a small ground because we're only a small club - unlike Argyle, Oxford, Luton etc. who are all HUGE. Our 'keeper required attention on a couple of occasions following fouls - one of which resulted in a booking for the attacker. Time wasting? I don't think so. We do not watch 'that shite' every week, as I'm sure you know some games are more entertaining than others. If your Saturday afternoon was spoiled I can only apologise - we pride ourselves on being a friendly club and I hope that your next visit to Adams Park will be better received than this one was.

  • yeah but ainsworth tells your players to put on that pathetic embarrassing cheating show and talking to some of your fans afterwards they said they wish he just concentrated on football, its supposed to be entertaining

  • That Adams interview is comedy gold. Apparently Bayo ‘won a few flick ons but didn’t have any real chances’. With two decent saves from their keeper, a header just past the post and the big lad forcing an own goal, the highlights seem to disagree...

The bottom end of the table also makes for great reading. Oxford and Brizzle in the relegation zone, Adams and the Devonshire Barca only just hanging on. Would be a great shame if all three went down.

Ah see you've completely avoided the question...shocked
It's not 'style of play'. It's cheating.
But one thing we know about Wycombe is they are ok to watch their team cheating.
Accrington play well and play fair. On a low budget. The Wycombe 'we cheat because we're tinpot and don't have a choice' excuse doesnt wash anymore.
    Shame. A real shame.

You misunderstand, @greenmachine. I make no apology for anything today. You played ninety minutes against a fellow League One club, whose means we can allow are irrelevant, and managed one shot on target. The suggestion that the sort of behaviour you apparently deprecate is unique to Wycombe and alien to Plymouth (and Accrington) is laughable. We play perfectly well and perfectly fair as often as most, I fancy, as at your place earlier this season (when I don't remember your 'keeper rushing to take goal kicks when you were ahead, by the by).

Rather than take it on the chin and recognise that your team was second-best today - as it most surely was - you prefer to venture off-territory to signal your virtue in a highly prissy manner. That is your prerogative. I exercise mine to disagree.

  • Ok, let's be fair to our guests. The 2nd half today was horrible. We weren't solely to blame, but yes our at times excessive time wasting didn't make for a great spectacle. Both sets of players however, were in my opinion going to ground too easily. The longest stoppage however, for the elbow on Jacobsen was absolutely genuine.

Be honest though Plymouth fans, we were the better side by a distance in the 1st half, no antics, no time wasting, we just played the better football and created more chances and indeed throughout the match it was only your keeper that stopped us scoring several more goals. In that respect, we were the more entertaining of the 2 teams on view today.

Another thing to keep in mind when rolling out the old 'how do you watch that every week' line, is that we've been involved in many high scoring and richly entertaining games both this and last season. I think I'm correct in saying we've had 14 3-2 results (either way) in the last season and a half. So perhaps the fact that today wasn't such a treat on the eyes was as much down to Plymouth' s inability to create anything worthwhile in 90 minutes, as it was down to our goalkeeper taking his time over a few goal kicks.

And before Plymouth fans (who generally I have a lot of respect for) and their manager (who I have no respect for) hold themselves up to be paragons of virtue, their treatment of our young goalkeeper who suffered an injury that ended his professional career at Home Park a few years ago is well remembered in these parts. As a result I suspect your sour grapes will get very short shrift on this forum.

  • I can go with that take, @Wycombe85. Well said.

  • I enjoyed the game today. Every team cheats but only Plymouth seem to get so upset about it.

Any group of supporters who jeer a young keeper getting carried off in a game can't cry when they are played of the pitch and outdone in the darker arts.

Finally any Plymouth fan going on about us not having a full ground should remember a half full away end doesn't help?

With all the tits on your forum you should be fine!

Just last weekend we were 2 -0 down on 70 mins. The opposition took their sweet time on every goal kick and substitution afterwards and stayed down plenty , and instead of whining we only had words for our own team, when we were 3 2 up at the end the opposition might have reflected on their own timewasting, but knew they had been outplayed.

You lot have no class. And you aren't almost going down because we timewaste but because Adams is a clown and your team are crap.

  • Derek Adams is the manager who delayed kickoff for 15 minutes once because he’d never even heard of the GPS units our players were wearing. Or was that just “gamesmanship”?

Let’s face it, Adams brought a knife to a gunfight when he tried that shit on Ainsworth and now gets schooled by Gareth every single time. He gets everything he deserves and there is no sweeter win than one that bursts little Derek’s blood vessels.

Which begs the question why you came here in the first place. Good luck for the rest of the season.

    Absolutely spot on!!

  • Plymouth were the worst team I've seen this season.

  • Is the derek adams chant sung at all other home grounds or is it our own song?

It was Geordies singing about Peter Reid to start i believe .

  • We’ve scored plenty of goals the last few years under Ainsworth.

The idea we play grindball for 1-0 wins is bollocks but it’s a great narrative for teams that lose to little old Wycombe.

Embarrassing posts from our newly signed up members from the West Country tonight.

  • Every week we also hear how crap akinfenwa is...when. He came on with Doncaster winning 2-0...he was so very crap we won 3-2. It's also a proven fact that time wasting stops highly skilled and motivated opposition players having a single shot on goal. 97 minutes and poor old rocky was bombarded with one. How do we watch that every week?
