Are we forgetting who handed the club over to the current regime in the first place btw? There was a whole transition period, wasn't there? Surprised RC hasn't come in for any stick (I don't think he should).
It’s very much a gut feeling issue. So calls for evidence are bound to land badly - we’re not handing in dissertations here.
The blithe dismissal of concerns about the Danuard operation bemuse me in much the same way that their backers clearly find the reaction of the Bloom Club a bit OTT.
One thing it does lay to bed is the old rot about Gasroom cliques and not being able to have one’s say. It’s been a feisty couple of days but all views are here.
Can we not just agree that Matt being pushed towards leaving of his own accord by a new ownership team who didn't want him to go was disappointingly inevitable (what did people expect??) if a complete season sabotaging shock which may, as far as we know, lead to disastrous stats based great success under a new forward thinking Dan Rice dominated manager coach and the Wycombe way of feeling sorrowfully enthused about his departure is tarnishing the hollow empty bright new shiny future ahead of us.
We'll wake up tomorrow and forget it ever happened.
But that’s nuts isn’t it. An academy is a means to an end, it’s not an end in its own right. No-one is going to carry you the streets of High Wycombe for winning the EFL Youth Alliance.
You have to find a balance between the first team and the academy and make sure they work together.
Yes it’s great news that we’re getting back into development football, it really is. But, we’re years behind other clubs and it’s going to take ages to catch up.
How quickly people forget about Wycombe's 1981 triumph in the schools cup, complete with a health & safety nightmare of a victory parade.
Though back to the points you made, the academy is, according to the communication we've had thus far from Lomtadze, is the key focus of his project. Increase use of data analytics was also mentioned, which appears to be the real sticking point between the new regime's "Ricicle boys" and Matt Bloomfield. The control over recruitment seems to have been reduced (if not completely removed) from the manager's role, which Matt Bloomfield is entitled to find an unacceptable level of interference.
Signings like Kone would quite possibly not have happened with the new regime, but searching for talent in the depths of non-league and utilising extensive contacts with coaches in Essex and East Anglia seems to be an area that Bloomfield specialises in. Judging by the Danish players that are being brought in, the new regime seems to be keen on a moneyball, stats-driven method of identifying undervalued players who could provide value and also make an instant impact.
At first I thought the guy in red was filming the transit on his phone and then after closer inspection I saw in fact he had a very small policeman on his shoulder .
I don't actually understand all the moaning and hatred towards Rice. It was only last week that we were begging the new regime to sign us some players. We have allegedly broken our transfer record twice in a month, and now we hate them?
Nobody knows what is going on behind the scenes. I love Matt Bloomfield but long term, I don't think he was the guy to lead us either. Sentiment plays no part in football, and if Rice and co are offering us a long term vision to make this club successful, then I'm all for it. IF it works. Time will tell, of course, but you don't get anywhere without taking risks.
Completely hypothetical - but say we get promoted, and then get promoted to the Premier League like Brentford did - are we still going to want Rice out?
Sit back and be thankful for where we are - which right now, is punching well above our weight. "Tiny little Wycombe Wanderers signing players for £700k". We could only dream of this a few years ago. You start wishing away what we currently have and what comes with that:
the new academy
the income that comes with that
giving opportunities to young aspiring footballers and coaches
a successful team
increased attendances
I'd like to be part of that if it works, but to find out if it does, we have to go along with it.
The ultimate goal in football is to win and be the best. Let's have a go!
I really don't understand this view that Rice and co are only interested in the academy and not the first team. They've parted with the best part of £1million+ in the past 2 weeks for first team signings! Obviously the academy is central to their project, but it's mad to suggest they aren't also strengthening the first team.

You forgot to end your post sneeringly claiming no inside knowledge.
But he needn't worry. You promptly evened out the sneering scoreboard for him.
Of course.
From memory losses were around £2.4m for 21/22 and closer to £3m for 22/23.
The last paragraph is the Trump playbook.

Was it Trevor Stroud?
Not talking about the Doc, but has there ever been a week where there's been such rage on here, and such different views?
Any gentle questioning about evidence, or suchlike being met like they'd admitted they were a Tory from Col Utd who quite likes Joey Barton.

I've never seen the thumbs so evenly split
The only view left to say..
Time for a poll?
Ricely done ✅
Blooming disgrace ❌
All views are here yes but some are being absolutely slammed

I hope that van is available when we win the playoffs
