Data driven WWFC
With all the talk about the data model we are following maybe it’s time to have a thread to enlighten the gasroom as to how it is used and where it will take us.
We all are probably aware that the packs on the back of the shirts have for a long while collected data on area covered by players during a game and their cardio performance etc. However how does the data on passes, shots, saves, tackles, arial battles etc get collected and does it get stored in a globally available database/s. If used outside the UK, how does the data take into account the strength of the leagues from which the player data is collected. Who actually collects the data.
Where will this all take us? Maybe the more savvy Gasroomers such as @flymofrank , @drcongo , @Shev could enlighten us on exactly how this all fits together?

I assume a new manager will be appointed on the basis of data.
I didn’t realise that their shirts had packs on the back of them. I thought the players wore black brassieres with data collection features underneath their shirts. Miniaturisation presumably.
just following the recent direction of travel regarding data I do wonder whether this is something that our new owners will be looking at? Another ‘Thomas Frank’ maybe? Brentford really does look the closest club that we are looking towards emulating.

I think we were early adopters (at least in L1). I remember Dereck Adams trying to get a game against Plymouth called off until we produced the FA paperwork proving they were legal.

Loved Derek Adams’ suggestion that opposition players could choke on the device.
I can imagine/envision (perhaps not) how @LX1 might lay claim to have choked on the odd bra in his time.

These trackers sewn into the back of the shirts have been used in the rugby Premiership for years.
With far more physical contact between players than in football, there are no known instances of a player being injured by coming into contact with another player's tracker.
I can understand how he thought a head injury might occur. Two players trying to head a ball, player A jumps slightly higher, player B heads into the device. How it leads to choking...only Derek will know that
Can we put one of these trackers in Bloomfield's pants to see if he's heading towards Luton?

Agreed and I think they were actually sewn into the shirts when WWFC started to use the trackers. However, as @micra graciously pointed out, they are in the bra type harnesses now.
Having started the thread I have looked at the available information and can see that Brentford, Brighton and Liverpool seemed to have been among the pioneers of this data type approach. Those clubs appear to have associations with organisations who supply the data for them. The Brighton chairman actually owns his own sports data gathering organisation, hence the adoption of the data approach.
Nice to see we are a really forward thinking club even if I don’t quite understand it all.
All I want to know is...is there a 'causes trouble in the dressing room' metric?
So does that mean wearing bras is now compulsory for players? Perhaps that why Bayo retired!
They've always been in the bras, the sight of one of those is what got Derek Adams in a tizzy. Also, they're padded so incredibly difficult to injure yourself on.
I never expected to see padded bras being discussed on a reputable football forum. (Then again it took a bit of a turn after the mention of Sydney Sweeney)
I'm sure I'm not the only one on here a couple of leftover mince pies away from needing a bra.

Nice of you to cite me @Blue_since_1990, but I am about as data savvy as a tree stump. I just like putting colour-coded excel sheets together for MOTM votes because I grew out of crayons!
I can interpret data as I see it and I know a bit about how it's gathered for the means that I use it in the media, but I'm not massively au fait with its applications in recruitment. Reading 'Moneyball' will probably give you as good an idea as anything.
