Yeah I assume that Bolton are asking for ~1.5m, with zero insider knowledge of course. I think we'd pay anything below 1m but Morley has a contract for 2.5 years, he's 24, they know that we know how good he is and how he fits with our side and our culture, and they aren't in urgent need of cash - there is absolutely no reason for them to sell him on the cheap. The only way that would happen is if Aaron himself was kicking up a fuss, and he seems far too professional to do so. The loan worked out perfectly for Bolton, and if it wasn't for Evatt, I'd be very pleased for them. Shame he is just a monumental cock
So we're either going for a different way of playing - or, I'm getting silly now - still looking for a Morley clone, or actually still after THE Morley.
Have we got links to a particular agent, or has the computer for some reason flagged Denmark as some sort of emerging hotbed of talent, like France was for Wenger in the 2000s?

Or we may just be warning Evatt that we've got other "irons in the fire", so buying Morley for a grossly inflated fee isn't going to happen.
This one seems too advanced - and the info is come out of the Danish end - to suggest it is a game to lower Morley fee.
It's the same source that broke Anders' transfer too, so you'd assume this one is nailed on.
I'm still trying to adjust to us spending this sort of money on players. Raiding the Scandinavian market makes it all the more intriguing.
This is being reported in Denmark’s leading football newspaper, just as Anders was.
This is fantastic news. My son is a VFF season ticket holder, so we regularly see him in action.
Box to box midfielder, a real unit (6’ 3” ish), comfortable on the ball like most Danes and strong in the tackle.
Great work from the data people.
Will good data in Scandinavian leagues automatically translate into good data in League One?
I guess we'll find out.
I almost threw up in my mouth when I realised that we are spending €1,000,000 on a Player. 1 MILLION! crikey
Is he a different kind of player to Morley? Is this a replacement for Morley do you think?
Yep.
Some random on the gasroom made a figure of 500k up and it seemed to become fact, when no-one really knows if it's even remotely close.
It could be well over a million or more.
The clue is that we bid 100k for a mere loan. That'd be daft if the fee was 400-500k.
Apparently Westergaard is out of contract this year.
Presumably in December like most Nordic contracts
Haven’t seen too much to Morley besides highlights due to being on the wrong side of the North Sea most of the year.
However, if it’s a midfield anchor with power, lots of running and who is also comfortable on the ball that you are after, this may be your man.
If the data guys are reading along, then his teammate Isak Jensen, a tricky left-footed winger, is also too good for the team he is playing in.

Worldwide phenomena.
This would be about as big a sign of the change in our monies as it gets.
Paying 850k for a player with less than a year left on the contract!?
We'll see though.
If we’re paying a slightly reduced fee because he is in the final year of his contract, we could be getting a player worth over £1m here.
Let's see if it happens.
Wonder when the last time we'd have doubled our transfer record twice in 2 weeks would be!
Now that is insider info!

Also being reported in the local Viborg newspaper now!
I'm even more baffled now.
So he's not a Morley replacement at all then.
So we're either going for a different way of playing - or, I'm getting silly now - still looking for a Morley clone, or actually still after THE Morley.
ps @micra will be in dreamworld bringing all these giants in.
Looking through Danish Scout’s top 10 list of players in the last year of their contract, there’s a few more we should be looking at too!
Could we be about to outspend Birmingham and Wrexham in this transfer window? That would be some statement of intent!
If this carries on @DanishBacon , I'm afraid you're going to have to be our number one go to spy/scout

Well arguably we need two more midfielders, especially with the summer in mind and Humphreys going back.
Good things always come in threes
Brentford had quite a few Danish players at the beginning of their data led journey.
I suspect they are good value, speak good English and are generally tall and physical for our English leagues.
Always available for a bit of moonlighting.
Coincidentally, Nigel’s younger brother has also been on Viborg’s team in the first half of the season. Unfortunately, not as good.
