Birmingham are surely going to get hit with a points deduction for breaching FFP (which they must have done?) next season? I'm sure they've factored that in, but it would be objectively very funny if they came straight back down.
Or is next season too early for them to get a deduction? I'm still struggling to understand how they can just chuck money at it.
Same reason as Wrexham don't isn't it? Donations from owners, as long as they're not Hayes style loans, count as football fortune and thus count into their ability to spend?
So make your huge purchases this season and as long as the wages aren't too mad, their big crowds and champs money will make it all fine next year?
“Due to his contract situation, Wycombe will definitely be receiving money if Low was to move on either this month or in the summer, but equally there could be a chance of him staying put.”
Imray is in the Bromley team again today, so if Palace were thinking of recalling him and sending him to us instead, they don't seem in much of a rush to do so. Makes me think it's just rumours
Local lad Jamie Jellis has rejected a new contract with Walsall, as per Pete O’Rourke. He’s a midfielder who was plucked from the non-leagues who I suspect is on our radar. Apparently there has been interest from some L1 clubs.
Latest from my colleague with ears very close to the Swansea dressing room - they're going to come in with a £750k bid for Low this week and are "increasingly confident" it will be enough.

Swansea's wage budget is around three times ours so I don't think we could offer Low anywhere near what they can.
Imagine the scenes on this thread if the club’s next ‘incoming’ announcement is a new data analyst for the Academy. Total meltdown.
By "someone", do you mean a fan on the Facebook fan group?
I would take EVERY word with a pinch of salt over there. In fact, probably not even worth wasting the salt.
I'd assume not as they're part of the English league system

No they won’t? They’re exempt as they’re newly promoted. It would be outrageously short sighted if they misinterpreted the rules

Makes sense. It's going to be so great when we pip one of them to promotion.
Is Low definitely OOC in summer 2025?

Article and rumoured fee could be incorrect? Or is this because of the under 24 compensation?
I believe Birmingham gave Stansfield a 7 year contract so we able to amortise his £15m (?) fee across that period through their accounts.
Birmingham City brought in significant sums from player sales during the summer.
On the subject of Birmingham's lavish spending, this is extremely satisfying:
If my maths is right, he's on course to finish the season with 24 goals, one better than our previous third-tier record (by Sean Devine).
How many did
How many did Beavon get in league one for us?
21

Keep your hands off our players, please. We NEED them more than you do!😉
If you take any I will set Robbie on to you😀
😂😂
From what I've heard from Robbie on 606, it sounds like he has been telling his son to get out of there for a while! We'd be doing him a favour!
Savage or Couhig?
Wha a scoop there’s an equal chance of him going or staying put.
Very quiet at Molde airport tonight. I'll keep checking.....
Unless that's Bloomfield flying in!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I always suspected that Blooms was Iron Man

Someone on the Walsall message board has heard that we are one of the clubs after him.
