The Firsts have that rare opportunity to play in their home town area, and supporters will look forward to seeing them there. Penn are unbeaten in the league, with four wins and two draws, and their few number of games compares to 12 played by the Chairgirls. Last Sunday they beat Slough Town 6-0 at home. Penn have lost in cups, 3-0 to QPR in the FA Cup, 4-1 to Chesham United in the B & B, and 2-1 to Beaconsfield Town on Thursday last week, in the Combined Counties League Cup. Not sure how those two teams get to play in a competition for a different league.
This should be a competitive game, in front of a good crowd. Hopefully the game goes ahead, in spite of the coming storm. The pitch was used last Saturday, Sunday and Tuesday, and will be used by Penn U23s tomorrow. The most recent video I can find of a game there is Beaconsfield Women's win there last week, and the pitch looks in good nick.
The match thread opened by @A_Worboys contains local eating recommendations. There is a car park at the ground but it is small and fills up early, but there is general parking outside in the village. I will be at the match and hope to see some Gasroomers there.
Some interesting information about the Women’s teams came out at the Trust AGM last week.
WW Foundation are looking into the feasibility of the teams playing games at Marlow Road training ground. Clearly a lot of work would be needed to pass ground grading, and make it suitable for spectators. I'm not sure if floodlights are installed there but they are not mandatory until tier 3. Requirements here for tier 4 and 5, the latter being Southern Regional Premier level.
The club's stated aim is promotion to the National League, if not this season, then next season, and that would make grants available when few, or none, exist at tier 5. One of those grants is the Premier League Stadium Fund, details here for tiers 1-4 in the Women’s Pyramid.
A maximum cumulative grant of £100,000 is available, for 50-70% of the total amount of work. To qualify, the club has to own the freehold of the ground, or have at least a 10 year leasehold agreement. There is a separate fund for floodlights, up to 70% of the total amount.
Other grants include the Women's Football Infrastructure Fund, up to £20,000 for tier 3-4 clubs, and the Football Foundation.
Consideration of Women's teams playing any games at Adams Park will not happen until the pitch is relaid, and Dan Rice made it clear at a previous Trust meeting, relaying the pitch is not a priority.
Some players, at some clubs, in the Southern Regional Premier are paid, which includes WWFCW.
This season the Trust raised their annual payment to WWFCW, to £5000 from £2500, and have committed to £5000 next season.
Steve - a correction on last sentence - the Supporters Trust increased its contribution in 2023/24 from £2500 (2022/23) to £5000.
The Supporters Trust has committed the same £5000 for season for current season 2024/25 with a promise of an extra £5000 if the Foundation can organise and promote a WW Womens league game as 'WWST-sponsored' and make it free for all to attend.
The Penn game tomorrow is now showing on the league website as scheduled for 26 January, but not showing in the Postponed section, which has other matches called off tomorrow. No word yet on Penn or Chairgirls social media. It looks as though the match is off but we await a formal announcement from the clubs.

In D1N, Slough scratched to Ascot last week in the league cup, and lost 3-0 to the Chairgirls last month in the reverse fixture. The Rebels are mid-table with four wins and five defeats from their nine games.
With just five league games played, Reading have yet to register a point in the Premier Division. Last time out, two weeks ago, the Royals lost 3-0 at home to Ascot. They had a good run in the FA Cup, coming through 2QR and 3QR, before losing in the 1st Round at Aylesford.
Going into the break, the Firsts have won their last five league games, scoring 22 and conceding just one. They sit five points behind the leaders Ascot, same number of games, and play their next game on 12th January, away to Ascot, who will have played the previous week at home to Reading.
The U23s also play next on 12th January, at home to Beaconsfield Town, and the U18s are away to Oxford United on 11th January. Their last game was on 23rd November.

The Penn U23s home game today was postponed, so we will see tomorrow if the Chairgirls game is still on. The weather forecast doesn't look good.
