Sky Sports app headline currently states ‘Sheff Wed leading Rooney’s Plymouth’. Not factually incorrect but it’s funny how they put his name before the club - can’t wait to read the article they posted about how Parky’s Wrexham defeated Bloomfield’s Wycombe yesterday.
Hiring Rooney because he was a great player is like hiring someone to be your doctor because they served you over the counter medicine efficiently at the local pharmacy. Same industry, different skillset.
They call it the Peter Principle at work don't they.
You get promoted based on having skills at one job, but if the job you're promoted to needs different skills, you stay at the level you're incompetent at!
Rooney of course needs a little time but fact he is not moving his family down suggests he, one way or another, doesn't expect to be culturally obliged to go cream first jam second for too long.
Another vote for jam first. Then, generously load it with clotted cream. Don’t do what my wonderful lady does, and scrape off the top of the cream. That’s blasphemy.
Incredible that Ryan Lowe said that this was "an appropriate time to move on". Surely one game into a season is the most inappropriate time possible?
Edit: Checking their forum, they generally seem over the moon he is gone. It just goes to show you never know what is actually going on at another club. Based on the below it seemed he was doing okay - I don't recall Preston being a Championship powerhouse before he took over?
Being practical, Devon cream is thicker than Cornish so can be used like butter, Cornish being softer can then be on top of the jam, and because it is softer can be put on really thickly! As my wife's Cornish aunt would say, 'tis how you cook it' (the cream that is)

Looks like Rooney is off to a flying start.

Rooney is already proving people wrong, exactly like he said he wanted to going into the season.
Unfortunately, it is the three people who said he would be a good hire.
By the way, I screen grabbed this from their forum just in case there is ever a time Plymouth fans try to troll us in the future.
Even more embarrassment…
That’s Cissoko on the left and Forshaw on the right!
It's like when a big name actor's name is bigger and bolder on the poster than the actual film title. You just know its going to be a turkey.
Though at this rate Rooney won't still be around at Christmas.
In Rooney’s defence, it’s very hard to write legibly in crayons so it’s easy to see how their names have been misspelled.

Ryan Lowe leaves Preston after one game.
Yet Rooney still has a job.
Crazy to sack a manager one game into the season.

Cream first is the correct way. The Cornish are freaks.
Spend summer in lovely Cornwall, engineer getting the sack by October and pocket the compensation. What could be better!
Rubbish... its always Jam first !!! You weirdos
Scone or scone?
Scone obviously..... anyone that calls it scone are well... wrong!
Jam first.
How can you spread the jam if there's already cream on the scone.
Another vote for jam first. Then, generously load it with clotted cream. Don’t do what my wonderful lady does, and scrape off the top of the cream. That’s blasphemy.
Do you weirdos put jam before butter on your toast?!
You don't toast a scone though!
Do you weirdos put jam before butter on your bread?!
No but my butter is only in a thin layer, making it possible to spread whatever comes next.
On a scone my clotted cream will be a good 2cm thick, no way to spread jam onto it.
As a side issue, I don't put jam on toast because I prefer marmalade or peanut butter.
The mere mention of the name Huddersfield gives me the shivering ab jabs.
That’s for sure. Perhaps Cissoko’s ‘C’ was ripped off at a corner or it could be trapped under his left armpit.

The brief entente cordiale is over.
People who put cream first are the sort of psychopaths that keep ketchup in the fridge
Never trust the French.
Guilty on both counts
