Crook Town V South Shields

OK the real reason for this post are the pictures in the link below of the fantastic Sir Tom Cowie Millfield Ground in Crook.

Its only got a season left if you havent been yet. I urge you not to miss out on one of the last great Amateur grounds while you still have the chance and your up in County Durham.

Anyway a word also on the match. South Shields, Themselves a former Football league club won to clinch the Northern league 2nd division and promotion as champions. They have had a remarkable season with home crowds averaging 700. Including gates against Tow Law of 1412 and Hebburn Town 1890. Regularly taking a few hundred away. They have Julio Arca turning out for them, the ex Sunderland hero, that has no doubt boosted the attendances at Mariners park this season. But these gates really are amazing for a club in the Northern League. Long may it continue.

Anyway back to Millfield.
