changes to the loan system for next season

I see Derek Adams is suggesting the proposed changes to the loan system will benefit Plymouth but I can only see harm to Wycombe. The bigger lower league clubs will be able run the larger squads but sadly as we already know Wycombe are not in a position to do this and if we needed cover as we had 3,4 or 5 injuries we could not do it. We have no youth set up so cannot call on them either. Emergency loans outside of the transfer window will be banned. I wonder if he was running Wycombe as opposed to Plymouth he would be so keen on it.

We will have to develop and setup our U18/21, if not we are f!"£%

The likely hood, Clubs like us should conduct player/s business in the Summer or January and not bring in all and sundry while we players parked up on the bench (Good news for Rowe who has signed a 3 year contract).

  • We have some form of youth set up I think.

I was at a local pitch before Christmas and saw a team in the away strip. I watched for a couple of minutes and didn't spot any stand outs so carried on my way to the changing rooms.

A couple of minutes later the officials came in. I asked who was playing (a Wycombe Wanderers team) I asked if there were any names I should make a note of for future stars. All three then started telling me what a horrid bunch of gobby prima donnas there were out there, players and coaches. They said that they were ok players no more but with attitudes like that will make nothing of themselves.

So thats a good news story.

  • Thats the future i guess

  • What? Oversensitive officials reluctant to advise a passerby on the footballing attributes of players in a match they have just refereed?

  • @micra not sure I understand your retort. All they were saying is that they were a gobby bunch of whiners which was blighting their football.

  • Sorry - thought you were seeking feedback on whether there were any worth keeping an eye on.

  • Adams is a prick!!!

  • We do have a youth set up of sorts which seems to cover u6-u16 - http://www.wycombewanderers.co.uk/news/article/coaches-needed-for-set-schemes-2308192.aspx

And there's this as well which is for older boys - http://www.wycombewanderers.co.uk//news/article/ainsworth-casts-an-eye-over-academy-talents-2308551.aspx?site=desktop

But what I have no idea about is how these compare to a 'proper' academy? Anybody with experience of youth football able to shed any light?
