Even if the problems with officiating ultimately lie at grassroots level, who in the professional game actually wants to set about improving things? We (fans of all teams) pay good money to watch our team; we shouldn't have to put up with that. Just lucky it didn't cost us anything today - totally fair result.

Sunderland are a good L1 team aren't they? They're direct, they're physical, they like to share their opinion with the ref and they know when to bend the rules.
If the ref had been slightly braver on a couple of occasions we might have won, but a point was probably the right result.

We do seem to have an inferiority complex against classic big teams at home. Almost like we're lucky to play them, so don't go out for a win.
