  • Not ifollowing today so.bound to.be a crisp spitting goal fest and a win. Good luck everyone.

  • Hoping for a pleasant surprise on the midfield fitness front, but I'm not holding out much hope after reading the injury report. Park the bus today, would be happy with a point against a side that can blow away some of the division's best and have all their best players back now. Wheeler to come into midfield presumably, hopefully back to Bayo and Scotty up front.

  • Just saw Preston have lost 6 of their 7 home games so far.
Our best hope might be their lack of confidence at home.

But if Gape, Thompson and Adeniran are all out. And McCarthy not even being in there, it'll be a real slog.

Patrick Bauer, regular centre back and captain injured for the season, Darnell Fisher (full back) still suspended for getting handsy with Calum Patterson and Paul Gallagher, a wily old championship head out injured I believe. Wouldn't say they have "all" of their best players back, but would agree that it would be a good point, even though their dreadful home form does make me slightly more hopeful...

Sorry, meant best *attacking players! Luckily Scott Sinclair tends to play on the left, would for fear for JJ against his pace - although he's having an excellent season and scored a worldie against Bournemouth in the week. Not sure much can be read into home and away form behind closed doors.

  • Forest losing at the moment...we're in good company. Three points today and we're still.in the.mix!

Four more goals for Reading and a sneaky 1-0 takes us out of the bottom three

It seems like we say this every week. We need to put a win on the board immediately or surely at some stage very soon it'll be 5-6 points to get out of the zone.

5mins to the big lineup reveal.
Please please let Adeniran at least be in there. Don't hold out hope for the others.

  • Crikey! Could be just about the most attacking line up we've ever fielded. Could go well, could also go very badly wrong. Quite worried at the moment, but COYB!

  • Looks like a repeat of the wide diamond sort of shape from the Watford game

  • What has Adeniran done does anyone know?

Good to see McCleary in there. He looked quality when he came on. Looks a central role for him. And a lot expected of McCarthy.

Like the attacking look - let's hope for the best.
You get the feeling if we can score first we'll be exceptionally hard to break down. But if we concede first you fearthe worst!

  • Must be a switch to 442 today with no Wheeler.

Fred and Mccleary wide, Horgan and McCarthy central, kashket/bayo up top?
    Very attacking.

Could be that, or could be McCarthy as the deep midfielder with Horgan and McCleary in front of him centrally?

    Intriguing either way.

  • ps No chairboys live this week?

  • I think it's this, possibly with McCleary as the 10 and Horgan wide right.

  • McCarthy best be feeling sprightly if that is the way we're lining up :)

  • I suspect making the best of a small number of players fit to play 90 mins. If Bloomfield, Pattison or Wheeler were fully fit, surely they would have played. No defenders on bench (I presume Charles is long term injured?)

I think a few of us have concluded that with Charles' condition he either starts the game or doesn't even make the squad.

Probably the worst possible thing for his condition to have him sitting there in the cold and then have to come on with not much notice.

McCarthy can cover for any of the back 4 if someone gets injured there - and someone can then slot in for him.

  • @DevC Burley is a defender. Also, on the evidence of Wednesday night, Wheeler could play anywhere, defence included, and make a good fist of it.

  • Anybody else notice how limited the social distancing appeared to be at the Reading game?

    They must be in bubbles?

Strange they only opened one stand. Assume so that they had to employ less stewards.

  • Have to wonder what Pattison and Freeman might think of that line up.

Neither can think they have any real claim to a position over anyone starting today surely?
Maybe question McCarthy as he's not a specialist midfielder, but neither have the tools to play as a defensive mid so not really a question?

  • Genuinely the first mistake I remember Knight making.

  • Tough to take that. Probably Knight’s first significant error.

  • Without wanting to put further blame on Rocky, you want him to come storming for that ball. He meekly went in waiting for an easy catch

  • Plenty of time left to equalise

  • Symptomatic of most of our season so far really - dominate for 10 minutes without scoring, opposition get one chance and convert. Next goal is huge now.
