  • Thank you Andy having not seen a live match since March 7th I’m hoping to get to one of these let’s hope the wet weather improves so the games go ahead

  • Kings Langley 1 Lowestoft Town 1
    (Southern League Premier Central)

A thoroughly entertaining game played on a bowling-green pitch in front of a 500-strong crowd.

Kings Langley opened the scoring early with a neat lob over the visiting keeper by Harry Crawford. Lowestoft had a great chance to score when centre-forward Jake Reed was clean through but slid his shot past the post.

Lowestoft improved considerably after the break and equalised midway through the half with a neat turn & shot from Colin Oppong. As the home side tired the visitors could have nicked a winner but a draw was probably a fair result.

The match was poorly controlled by referee Luke Scott. One awful challenge from behind on Kings Langley’s number 10 Harry Crawford even ripped open his boot. In the EFL it would have been a yellow & in the Premier League probably a red. This referee didn’t even blow up for a foul. An appalling decision. Some of the Non-League games I’ve seen this season seem to be controlled by referees who allow open GBH for the first 30 minutes then start booking all & sundry in the second-half for the most minor misdemeanours.

Kings Langley is an interesting club. The village of Kings Langley is similar in size to Flackwell Heath & for many years the club played at Non-League step 5. They have made remarkable progress & the pitch is like a bowling green as they ground-share with Watford Ladies FC. A terrific set-up that has grown gradually and is a great asset to the village.

    Berkhamsted 5 Wantage Town 0.
Decent crowd, nice ground tucked away very close to the train station next to a canal. Visitors worked hard but lacked quality and had a last minute penalty saved.

Ridiculous that fans are not allowed socially distanced higher up the pyramid but gives the opportunity to visit some new grounds on the cheap and you always get a friendly welcome. Just £4 entry (half price with a pro club season ticket)

  • Marlow 3-3 Westfield A cracking Isthmian League encounter with Westfield (a suburb of Woking) coming from behind 3 times.2 red cards one for each side a couple of great goals and one howler from the Marlow keeper who otherwise had a superb game crowd 190. First live game since March for me. Loved every minute
