Host of clubs, including WW, watching Maidenhead striker

edited February 2020 in Football

Ian Dennis of BBC Sport has reported:

'Watch for Danny Whitehall of Maidenhead United. 24 year old striker, 6’3 and out of contract at the end of the season.
18 goals so far after spending past 4 seasons on a US scholarship. Luton Town, Bolton, Barnsley, Wycombe and Wimbledon just a few who are keen.'

  • Interesting, would be nice to see us sign more talent from non-League as part of our future transfer strategy - you'd certainly have to back Gaz's ability to identify the gems, and a little bit of transfer budget could go a long way.

  • With him being out of contract, above compensation age and the possibility of some of our old boys going at the end of the season this seems more likely than most but competition isn't going to help

    Location might though?

  • Could he cut it in the Championship though?

  • The jump to league football is massive. Dale Southwell a couple seasons back scoring for free in non league, didn’t make it. Just been released by Halifax.

  • Dayle.

  • Dale was different.

  • And I’m being silly.

  • Pete Couhig just mentioned him on Bean With The Shot, spent some time in the US apparently.
